So I recently got my 5th referral and have received the bonus 250 points for doing so. However, it said I also got a superstar point but I have no idea what that is.

I'm guessing it is a free point to create a new player (that isn't 150) like it was when I first joined. Am I correct in thinking that I can make a 4th character?

Superstar points are what you need to make Superstar players. You need at least 10 of them to make a superstar by using the superstar trait. The only other way to get SS points is by completing a season with a player.

Like bhall said, it's not "a new player". Get a bunch of superstar points, and it makes your next player (who you would still need to pay for somehow) into Peyton Manning instead of Ryan Leaf.
