It's probably just some weird timing. If you click next play right around the time the play text is going to pop up, the next play loads with the play description (for the correct play) already showing, same sort of deal I would bet.

Similar issues in the GLB flash version from what I remember of it. Clicking next play or possesion would sometimes double skip.

Don't think so as it usually happens cuz I am trying to get through a game faster so since there is no next possession button I'm forced to speed click through replays.

Well, yes - that's the other end of the timing. I don't mean that the "pause" happens when you click near the end of the replay, but that rather there are timing issues with clicking next play in general, and that's another one of them.
I get the same pause at times. I always find myself wondering if my mouse moved up slightly from the "next play" button, because it pauses right above that button, but I'm pretty sure that's not happening.
