In the first season I would not be surprised if an owner said 'hey, your lb with 12 sprinting isn't good enough, you need these 7 stats to be 20 or 25 or better including tackling, quickness etc
Is he a dick for saying this?
No
Does he have every right to do this?
Yes
Is he maybe acting rashly?
Sure
So what?

If that's your problem maybe you should suck it up and accept this game creates a market with supply and demand
And that demand is sometimes for something specific
I bet there's another team that would take what your dishing out

And that there is exactly the problem. If the goal is to create a true football sim, a great disservice is done when it's all about an owner wanting specific builds. Specific players, yes. You want a fast corner with terrific hands, a simmed college careers with a CB posting a high number of picks and some great return yardage is the type of player you want. An Owner saying I want a player with X for speed and X for quickness and so on, completely removes the realism from the game. And it's not something I am interested in repeating.

Look, it's not my game. They can do what they want. However, they lost a lot of paying players from the original for exactly what I am pointing out...and ultimately, it is my money. I couldn't care any less if it makes players like you whine. They were asking for suggestions and I supplied one. Whether you or anyone else likes that suggestion doesn't mean squat to me.

Have a day.

originality and uniqueness thrived in GLB1. Anyone who says otherwise never really tried... or took the opinions of clueless inside the box thinkers.

I don't open any of my builds to bhall. It's more in part with me being too lazy to open them to him, but he has no issue with it. I have no issue with anyone keeping their builds closed. This is the first season of a new game. I want every advantage I can get...

And if it's any consolation, buy a team or coordinate and you can try whatever you want to.

just keep in mind that experimental builds should be happening right now and anyone who says they know what they're doing is full of shit.

I actually LOVE this OP. Builds that are impossible to open would be very interesting. You would still have owners saying "PM me your build numbers" though so it wouldn't really solve anything. I definitely love the idea of simming a college year (though in all fairness would be better to sim 2 seasons since that would more closely jive with the real world).

The biggest problem with GLB1 (for me personally) was this: People who build players are the ones paying the bills. OC/DC is FREE and they do all the work (and ultimately get all the power).

I've built a number of players this season. Some have turned out decent. Some suck. All had likely mistakes made. I am on teams where owners are telling players "put your points in these skills." - that isn't fun - and with the current difficulty to find teams sometimes (and it being unknown what demand will be like for sophomores next year) - there is pressure to do what is said - even though I KNOW the guy is guessing at things for the most part.

In the interest of full disclosure (semi-fictional story) - Guy on my team who has a skill I think would be pretty low on the totem pole up in the 50s (in my mind it would be 6th or 8th or even lower) - and I've asked "would you consider re-speccing"

So I love the idea.

Build your players how you want. Thats what I did and all 3 players got signed eventually.
