But new players can't sign up and immediately make a QB/HB, unless they buy flex, since players in low demand aren't free.

Yup, I might have to do that with a player.

It makes me sad though to lose FP on a toon that never played anything other than a pickup game.

Hold off until the new season. A player doesn't progress unless he's on a team. Play a pickup game every day until then. I'd go ahead and post in Players Looking for Teams now (or check Teams Looking for Players) to see if you can find him a home for season 2.

Hence why new players won't ever want to play this game longer than the hour it takes them to figure this out. What's stopping Bort from having a bunch of CPU leagues lined up for new players who want to see a QB or RB play instead of a D-Lineman?

Well quite a few reasons. Since I'm on my phone I'll go with the easiest. Having hundreds of leagues with a couple players per team would take ridiculous amounts of processing power.

In GLB Classic people complained about too many CPU leagues.

In GLB2 people complain about not enough CPU leagues.

What a dilemma.

Don't add more CPU leagues...just fix the human teams out there that have a dozen or so active players. Human Teams > CPU teams anyway.

Agreed, that's my concern too: Making sure the game is set-up to be noob friendly and keep new players here long enough to see how much fun the game is.

Right now there's a huge friction point to being able to get onto a team (human team as well as CPU team), and that doesn't bode well to the retention rate of new players moving forward.

Agree with your points, however I'm not sure the "demand" counter is 100% accurate because of inactive owners. I get it on QBs and HBs but when (like the guy above who retired his DT) agents in average demand or even high demand can't find human teams that is something that should be remedied.

You've got owners who are inactive (have not logged in) and those who are not actively filling teams as well. I took it upon myself to email about a dozen owners whose appeared active and whose teams had pretty significant roster CPU postings by going league to league and looking at the bottom teams. Only one replied and it was "hey thanks but I dont have time to run the team". Understandable sentiment, just pointing out that retreading inactive owners during the course of the season could provide some relief for those looking to get involved on human teams.

Yes, you are correct with the inactive owners and those demands are somewhat inaccurate. I may not have posted it anywhere, but I had an LB I had to retire because I released from my team for someone else and couldn't get my guy on a team so I retired him. Also, it could be basing off of the cap on the roster spots where not everyone is going to, nor can they fill every slot cap. So, yes these could easily be inaccurate if it is basing it that way giving people a false sense.

For season 1 players, having a CPU team to join is extremely important, as they need to play in League games to get EXP. It's really annoying to select "Experienced" when creating a character, then not being able to keep up with EXP because he cant get on a CPU team. DD added 2 more D leagues last week, but that's only 32 more teams worth of QB's.

Should make it a lot easier to get closer to the middle on the 3rd attempt then.

Its worth noting that there is not a single position in high demand right now; something that is going to get worse sooner rather than later.

Need more human teams, I'd like to get my toon off the CPU team and on a real team.

Its ridiculous. All three teams I'm involved with have inactive owners.

Can we install a co-ownership program? Me and a buddy want to start a team, but here we sit on the waiting list.

Teams with inactive teams are treated like CPU teams until the end of the season.

This is one of the things that kill recruiting on GLB, have leagues full of CPU teams, where anyone can make a player and sign on a CPU team, instead of signing with a human team, people on GLB have been doing that for seasons now, so why the out cry, the same thing will just happen
