Apparently a lot of teams are getting screwed out of wins or ties by getting sacked out of field goal range, throwing picks, fumbling the ball, etc, when in range to kick for a game winner/game tying play.
My suggestion is that there should be a tactic: Less than 2 minutes to go, in safe field goal range (as it is defined in your tactics), down by 3 or tied, you should be allowed to have more control over the playcalling - i.e. I, personally, would want to switch to 100% run inside to keep my RB from running a pitch or a sweep (and subsequently fumble or TFL) or my QB from throwing a pick/sacked out of FG range/sack and fumble.
AirMcMVP has given this suggestion his endorsement, for what it's worth. It wouldn't be a terribly extensive fix, and it would clean up a lot of end game miscues that weren't necessary.
It's a work in progress maybe but I think that's a good starting spot.
