Cincinnati had those crazy second halves. The next season we were up 23-3 on them in the WL playoffs and gave up 49 after the break.

Both teams brought their A-Game to the field on this one. Doof started with some good running and then an interception for a TD was scored by the Duckies on the opening Doof drive. Captain Hood rallied the team back together and capitalized on the third drive resulting from a Duckie fumble at their 28.5 yard line. Sore tied at 7 with 7:16 left in the first. Defenses got their stuff together and no more scoring in the first quarter. First class teams. Going to be a good game. The second quarter opens with a missed 56 yard field goal by the duckies. Doff gets the ball but Captain Hood is stopped cold by a sack and a hurry. Ducks NT Bob Jolly made that sack on a 3 man rush triple teames. WOW!!!! Ducks defense firing on all cylinders. Ducks begin a long drive after the resulting punt and just trudge down the field to score. SLUGFEST out there. I'm sweating just watching my screen!!! 14 - 7 favor the Ducks with 6:55 left in the 2nd quarter. Then things started to favor the Duckies, where later in the 2nd quarter, a punt was fumbled and the Ducks capitalized at Doof's 16 yard line, but only with a field goal. Can you say the "Black Ice" is dangerous. OH YEAH!!!! 17 to 7 favor of the Ducks at halftime. Captain Hood with the inches pep talk during the intermission. And we start the second half.........
THey heard the talk Capt. but it was not enough. The opening drive by the Ducks was a hard fought war on the gridiron where we saw eight 3rd/4th down conversions. WOW!!! Very similar to the Ducks Conference Championship!!!! New Orleans knows what that felt like. The Ducks finally score with 5:18 left in the third quarter. But Doofenshmirtz cannot seem to respond as two later drives in the 3rd result in nothing. Cannot get a break. either half yard shot or dropping the pass. We end the third at 24 -7, Ducks winning. The start of the fourth brings more devastation as the Ducks score at TD 24 seconds into the fourth. Then it is all the Duckies as Doofenshmirtz's defense holds on but the offense cannot get it going. Captain Hood went down with the ship!!!!!!!

And there it is... DUCKS WIN!!!!!!

The end of another WL season comes to a close!!! The archive will be appropriately updated with the Ducks Win. Cro and T2 will be immortalized!!!!! There will be rejoicing in Duck City when they return home. It was a long and arduous journey pointed with pain and disappointment. But no worry, in a few days it will start all over again. And besides, the Hidden Dragons will be back!!!!!
