If you happen to run across batonball looking for a spot on your team, I'd have to advise you not hiring any of his players.

I'm a believer in the moral compass, and his appears to be quite low. I'm assuming he is a disgruntled player, as he PMed me an opponents entire roster attributes just moments ago for an upcoming match. I've already deleted the PMs and advised the owner of what happened. I hope the other owners in this league would do the same, I have no respect for this type of BS - takes the fun out of it.

Wow....that is nuts. I wonder what his side of the story is though not sure even if I was being screwed I would do such a thing. In the end though, while we have contracts and unsaid obligations there are terrible owners out there who don't try their best to make the players happy which I feel is just as much a responsibility as it is to be a good leader and hold others accountable. Just a fine line. But good for you though in reporting this and giving us a heads up as I know I would wanna know what I was getting into if someone like this was coming into my team.

I dont care what the situation is, you dont PM an upcoming opponent that type of info. Kudos to SCACE for handling it the way he did.

yah he was a lvl 6 QB on our team and raised hell in our forums about not being a starter Pm'n all the players saying he wants out, and saying hes going to email all our stats and stratagies to our opponets. we traded him today to some gimp africa team. If you own a team or have multiple players on diff teams do not invest in this guy.

thanx for the info SCACE

I agree...but there are ways to handle things. He was, as posted above, a lvl 6 QB...sorry, not going to start, should be in the D-Leagues or boost. But that's besides the point - if you want out, most player agents are a lot more courteous. The full story goes even further about where he wanted to go and the team not accepting even the most generous offer, just waiting for him to be cut after causing a stink.

I'm a fair owner, my players can attest to that, but if this guy had been on my team, he would have found out that losing half a season of experience is not a lot of fun

Thank you, SCASE, for pointing this out, from one owner to another. A very honest thing to do on your behalf, and handled with class.

I agree with your assessment of the moral compass. It's deceitful in the worst possible way to undercut the team for the sake of a single player. That, and it speaks very lowly of someone's character not to have the "manhood" to simply ask for a trade, or even attempt to find a better player to take your guy's place. Frankly, I'd love to see him get permabanned for that.

And I agree with you above, too. If one of my players ever did that, he'd have an assfull of splinters, he'd have ridden the pine so hard.

Well Scace without knowing the facts and just knowing a surface situation its hard to make any rightful judgement unless you are in it first hand....agreed?

Witht hat said...ya, I totally agree that guy deserves what is coming to him and his name should be passed on every forum. But I do have players that owners have locked on their team. Go look at my lvl 10 HB. He has 0 carries and 0 yards. Level ten fellas and hasn't seen the ball in a game. Nor do I deserve to really be in the game considering who is in front of me but still I asked out before lvl 7 so that I could go to D league and develop. Not be a punt returner. I have asked off the team numerous times. Though I have not resorted to giving away tactics, we suck anyway, nonetheless some owners have some issues.

You know, what I'm glad to see the most out of this situation is not the guy getting shipped to a bum team in Africa, but that SCACEdid the right thing morally to uphold the integrity of the game... damn I sound like a military commercial! For real though, we jaw jack a lot on here and some times people get hot under the collar about it, but when it comes down to it, we all are here for a little fun & relaxation. To take the game a step further and resepect the gamesmanship showed great character SCACE. (I guess I should reward you with a golden sword or something the way that last statement came out!)

I hope all of you guys return next season... tell Bort to piss off about moving up or down leagues! You guys are all class acts in my book!

I agree stubbs, 100%, that owners can be assholes too. It sucks that your HB is stuck where he is, esp. since you handled the situation well, and in that situation, I'd side with you over the owner, who should be penalized in some way. But you didn't resort to sending out tactical information to an opponent - I could care less what the situation is, there are ways to handle things and ways to not handle things.

As for the other owners and players, thanks for the comments. As owners, I hope you would all do the same to keep up the spirit of competition (and I think you would). As players, I hope this is a lesson on how NOT to handle a situation.
