OK, looks like something is up with the timeout calling again....
We take 1 to with 58 seconds left, complete a long pass to the 4.5 yard line, let the clock run and kick a FG on 1st down....we had timeouts remaining as we took one DEFENSE in the next series...

Adding Catch's response to the OP from his "locking" post:
2nd Quarter, Offense, Time <= 30
Down = 1-3
Spot = Opp 10 to Opp G
Form = Offense
TOL = 2+

There is more than 30 seconds left when the play that brings the ball inside the 10 so no timeout is called until the end half AI calls for it. At that point the end half AI calls for a FG. It is what it is with Casual - you don't have control so you don't get the ability to dictate as much as you would with regular AI the end half playcalling AI.

This is a bug. What looks right about getting to the 5 yard line with over 45 seconds, with 2 TOs left, then sitting and waiting for clock to run down and kick a FG? Before the end of half play calling takes over, the sim should look for another option....sure, it may be a once in a while occurrence, and may not be deemed worth fixing, but to call it NOT A BUG because casual is what it is is BS.....

I think this ....

With 58 seconds left, you get that big gain on the pass play. I figure that took -- 10 seconds? That would leave 48 on the clock. In the 2nd quarter, time outs will not be called with more than 45 seconds remaining. Since the sim cannot call a time out, they kick a fg.

On defense (in the 2nd Q), the sim calls a time out on 3rd down if you have 2+ remaining, regardless of score. (This is somewhat dependent on opponents field position)

The sim already called a timeout with 58 seconds remaining, so the "it won't call a timeout before 45 seconds" theory doesn't work here.

So there's the bug then .. the TO at 58 seconds should not have been called.

I think the LAST TO won't be called with more than 45 seconds....

I think the bug is with time/distance....usually timeouts seem to get called once you cross your own 30 yard line with less than about 90 seconds...there seems to be a hole in the timeout logic in this scenario, whether it be at 58 seconds, or as soon as the clock crosses 45 seconds....

Regardless of what it is, there is a hole in the logic somewhere....just glad it did not cost a win in this case....

I think the FAQ is incomplete, and it's a bug....

Absolutely no way you have 2 timeouts and let the clock run down to 19 seconds and kick a FG on first down from the 4.5 yard line....

Regardless of what the FAQ says....

Here is from another game....first 2 timeouts get called with less than 90 seconds from outside your own 35 yardline...

Pretty sure the FAQ is wrong on the times when timeouts will get called as that list was copied from the suggestion but was modified before implementation so I'll get clarification from Bort on that and correct.

The issue in the OP, however, is not a bug.

Bugs Mod can close as not a bug. Like mentioned, I'll get clarification from Bort on the times for timeout logic and make updates to the FAQ when he gets them to me.
