I'm going to go ahead and determine that this is a bug.

So 1 bug mod says yes.

So you're saying that this is working as intended? http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=1780103&pbp_id=1586258 Did you actually ask Bort or are you just making up your answer?

My Gs have FS and drop back very quick on some plays. They only seem to make an extreme drop when they actually have a blitzer to pick up on the other side. When there is nobody to block they just kind of bounce around. Below are two quick examples of what I am talking about.

http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=1815859&pbp_id=3317365 (RG has a blocking target)
http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=1814672&pbp_id=2609748 (RG has a blocking target)

http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=1814672&pbp_id=2614785 (LG and RG nobody to block)

http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=1814672&pbp_id=2615130 (LG and RG on steroids with nobody to block, ie RZ freak)

I think that each position on the O line has a distance to travel to form a pocket. OTs have the farthest distance to travel. Strength DEs are having a good season imo because OTs drop back to where the QB is and the DE just has to slightly push the OT back to get the sack.

My last replay shows that it is possible for the Gs to help out with a boost to their skills. Of course sometimes double-teaming a D lineman makes the situation worse. lol

Personally, I blame the QB and how he moves in the pocket for most the sacks made by strength DEs this season.

This looks like the same issue:

http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=1782356&pbp_id=3143991 <=== LT has 0 First Step
http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=1782356&pbp_id=3145819 <=== LT has 6 First Step

My RT has 5 in first step. He opens a hole big enough to drive two semis through.

Here are some examples

WTF? Drop back and towards the QB?
http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=1813138&pbp_id=3523539

Sweet job by the ROT
http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=1813138&pbp_id=3523655

Again, why is he dropping back in a semi circle towards the QB?
http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=1813229&pbp_id=3516854

Yet again, drops back towards the QB in a semi circle

I don't care what you bugs moderators think, but this shit is broken. Take it to Bort, and have it looked at closer.

There is absolutely 0 reason why teh ROT or LOT would give up ground like that when forming a pocket. 0, zilch, no reason.

PS: Tell him to pull his head out of his ass and fix the passing game while he's at it.

We're reviewing this. First inclination just from reviewing pbp's is that it's not a bug. I have asked Bort to look at it though to see if he feels differently and wants to do testing with OT's having First Step and not having it.. Locking this thread as it's not up to users to determine whether something is a bug or not and there is no need for the negative comments towards the Bugs Moderators. If you have an issue with how an issue is being dealt with, your recourse is to contact myself. The Bugs Forum rules are clear on that.

Bort has reviewed it and has determined that this issue is not a bug and does not need review/testing.
