I would love to come up with one, but of course, I am not that in depth on putting it all together...what divided by what times what...etc...

I would love to work with someone on this...if someone is willing, might be an interesting task.

I was just playing around with the one I did. It is based off of the same one the NCAA utilizes for most of it's major sports. I figure if it's good enough for the NCAA it's good enough for GLB.

It's not too difficult once you have the code set in excel. The only thing that gets time consuming is the fact you have to recalculate OPP WIN % and OPP/OPP WIN % after each game.

Also, RPI is normally meaningless until about halfway thru the season when the data starts to take shape.

In regards to NCAA football, I believe the NCAA actually waits until the end of the season to release RPI data.

The basic RPI formula is:
1/4 x (Winning Percentage) + 1/2 x (Opponents' Average Winning Percentage) + 1/4 x(Opponents' Opponents' Winning Percentage)

The basic Strength of Schedule formula is:
(2/3) X Opponents Winning Pct. + (1/3) X Opponents Opponents Winning Pct.

Why is it broken down into your winning % being worth only 25% and opponents win % being 50%, etc. etc.?

I don't have an official NCAA reason on why they do that, but I assume more weight (50%) is placed on the teams you play and not so much on how many wins (25%) you have. So RPI is based more on quality of opponent than the amount of wins to stack up. So essentially a 14-4 team may have a higher RPI than a 18-0 team based on the quality of opponents played.
