Rank Team Power Number
1 Queensland Flash 55.71
2 Lost City Idols 46.86
3 Forbidden City Firestorm 45.50
4 Taipei Pirate Hookers 44.79
5 Oklahoma Steelers 43.64
6 Phuket Vandals 34.21
7 Mandalay King Cobras 26.57
8 Mekong Delta Force 26.00
9 Winona Warriors 19.29
10 Chappel Island Tiger Snakes 15.50
11 Macau Kraits 14.29
12 Golden Hill Bones 13.50
13 Compton Unicorns 5.86
14 Tokyo Black Demons 2.86
15 Oakland Green Machine -2.50
16 Stucknut Triceratops -6.50

Despite losing, the Flash have been so dominant, the spreadsheet has them #1 still. Nice win for the Idols in week 7 though.

The Warrior still have played the toughest schedule so far playing 5 of the top 6 teams in the standings already, with Oklahoma looming in Week 9. Wekk 8 holds their first cupcake.

Stucknut has played the second toughest schedule, which gives them some excuse for all the beat downs they've received.

Should be an interesting race for 5-8, with 5 teams having a pretty good shot at those last four playoff spots. Who will be the odd team out?

My guess is the Vandals, as despite the 5 wins, they've played the conferences weakest schedule.

Thoughts?

I can't wait to play the easy teams. Who the hell made our schedule.

I'm with you there Porch. You guys should get a few wins against some of those easier teams. I'm waiting to get to play them myself.

Cool, thanks again for these.  Spreadsheets lie, though.  The Idols should be #1 (for now, muahaha!).This game marked the tough part of our schedule for us.  We just played the #2 on the list and we have the #7, #3, #8, #4, and #6 teams coming up in consecutive weeks.  Should be fun!

We don't like to run it up and it has hurt us. We try and get our backups alot of playing time.

We have determined that statements need to be made.

Taipei Pirate Hookers prepare for a beatdown of epic scale.

You will be made an example of and you will know defeat. Say goodbye to your unbeaten record.

We beat the flash and still remain that much from the top spot?

West Asian Coast bias at it's best

Yeah, we've had a tough early schedule. We've faced two undefeated teams back-to-back and every team except the Triceratops was .500 or better. After a tough matchup with Taipei this week, we should have a little breathing room. Starting off with the top 4 teams and 6 of the top 10 (ourselves withstanding) is a tough way to learn the ropes.

Agreed, the spreadsheet cleary places too much emphasis on points for vs. points against. I have some issues with it myself, but I'm not smart enough to create anything better.

Arles can do it. He created college football polls for his game bowl bound.

Nudge, Nudge....

Hey, I think it's solid. Maybe weigh the SOS a little more - something like the RPI where it's record + SOS + Opp SOS + a margin factor. That would probably be the best. Still, jplaw1314 has done a nice job.

Thanks guys, but I can't take credit for this. The spreadsheet was emailed to me, so I'm just a data entry guy on this. We'll see how it shakes out at seasons end i guess and go from there.

I could always adjust it so they didn't matter as much, but then you are just getting closer to something that represents the standings. It really is the only strong data from standings/scores that can be implemented in a power ranking to show a teams strength. If you look at the 32 team one, the Gangsters had remained relatively high due to the fact that they had a 33 rating, crushed bad teams, and only lost by a small margin to great teams. I think this really showed the strength of the spreadsheet, everyone knows they are a tough team and the power rankings showed that even though their record did not.
