I disagree ...i think that there would be less competitive teams and more chance for the inexperienced to make it to gold, which wouldn't be such a bad thing coz it may inspire some new talent to come through and develop a new passion for devotees to peewee! ...and I think in the grand scheme of things, the peewee community would appreciate that more coz it would be like a breath of fresh air, rather than the stale odor of the gold faithful!

Isn't making it to Gold supposed to be somewhat prestigious? I don't think "less competitive" and "inexperienced" belong in Gold. That is what Silver is for imo.

I think its time to consider switching demotion process. Bottom 8 from both conferences go back down to silver. All conference champs move up.

Wanna stay in gold...gotta make the playoffs. We would see a lot of new teams in gold. The bottom half of gold goes back into silver.this would expose the beginner teams to more experienced teams. Maybe it would eliminate the CPU teams from gold.
It would also be harder for a mediocre gold team to camp out in gold.

I could definitely get behind this idea. Every year there are at least 2-3 teams that "take a season off", knowing that they'll at least be good enough to stave off demotion on auto pilot and remain in Gold. If I decide I'm going to take a season off, I'd have no issues with getting bumped down to let a Silver team that wants to give it a go in. If I'm good enough to be in Gold, I'll make my way back eventually. If not, well, I probably didn't belong in Gold anyways.

Good idea. Taking a season off should equal go back to silver.

Mostly just a good idea because it would get rid of some lackluster in Gold... people will def try a bit harder knowing missing the playoffs means you lose your pretty Gold League title.

It would also make it that much harder for a newly promoted team to establish themselves. They get one season to make it against a dozen of Pee Wees best coordinators... thats it.

yeah originally I thought this to be one of the downsides to gruppo's suggestion ...but with more consideration to this ...one season is all that it would take for a new gold coord to progress into a good gold coord ...and then whether it makes them more determined to come back and try again after having a taste of elite level, is the question. ...personally, it would make me even more determined to come back and try again after a season of fail! ...and this may be one of the incentives for devotees to peewee!
