Not a bug, because it was caught by another dot, presumably before the ball hit the turf.... similar to how many fumble recoveries are displayed.

That's the first time I've seen it but it makes sense to be both possible and extremely rare.

I agree with this. Not really sure I have ever seen anything like this.

But I wouldn't frown on the possibility of it happening.

One dot has it knocked loose, another WR in the immediate area catches it.

Ive seen it more when its a deflection and a different defender gets the INT.

This would be similar.

who got the credit for the reception?

It shows that Andre' Johnson got the credit for the reception. You would think that the credit would go to Doug Nerd.

However, this could be like the NFL where, at the end of the game and you have all the laterals; the person that makes the first catch in that progression actually is the one who gets credit for the reception. They could be scoring like that.

Well I know of an NFL game where Randy Moss caught a pass way down field, was getting tackled and lateralled it to Mo Williams who took it in for the score. Moss got the reception but Williams got all of the yardage.

yeah this ain't a bug. KL catches used to happen all the time but then bort fixed the problem to be a "once in a blue moon" kinda thing. Well, there's your blue moon

I looked for the same thing. The verbage in the play states Andre Johnson, but the Box score does show Doug Nerd as having just 1 reception for the 4.5 yards. If you go through his plays from that game he had no other receptions. The even funnier part is that it shows him as having 0 targets but 1 catch - that's gotta be a bit unusual as well.

Unusual but true, as he was not the targeted WR, lol.

I am marking VERIFIED.

I feel as though this is not a bug.

I am agreeing with most have said. Ball was knocked down, but caught before it hit the ground.

closing as issue determined not to be a bug.
