Last season I started a LB:

I took Vision to the cap first, and dispite being out-levelled I was able to finish around 3rd or 4th in tackles each game even though I played about half the plays as everyone else. Shouldn't Vision be a high priority?

Low level games are pretty irrelevant when it comes to making correlations to consider for high level games.

However, most LB's rock mid 70's to low 80's vision at end game... so i don't really know what your point is, are you saying LB's should have even more vision, or cap it earlier? Because vision is a high priority, but it will rarely ever be 1st or 2nd cap.

vision is great for defensive dots at early levels. Those who add it pass their vision check and react early, and vision is part of tackling and break block rolls.

The thing is that vision provides diminishing returns later on. Once you have it high enough to pass most of your vision checks and keep from being faked on a regular basis, then the value drops greatly.

So if you take it to the 1st or 2nd cap early, you will perform well in the first few seasons. The problem with that is, you are getting behind on your speed and/or agility for the long term build.

You can take it up first, but you don't really want to go much past the 3rd cap. If vision is at 3rd cap by level 22, it will end up at 80 by the end of the build (presuming it is a boosting player).
