Game #1. Los Alamos Engineers (1-0, 25/27) vs Les Fleaux de blablabla (1-0, 22/25). For the record, I never really liked the Engineers’ name. I may be an engineer, but I would never name a football team after what I do. I would much prefer a team name like, “Pop!! Goes your mom”. Or “THE You can’t spell suck w/o USC”. Call me weird. As it so happens, the Engineers (not the choo-choo kind) played the Jondians today in a tourney game, and the Frenchies won 28-14 with 3 TDs on special teams. The Engineers (no, we don’t all wear pocket protectors) threw the ball like 65 times and only completed 36.9% of their attempts. So, who will win the regular season match-up? I would choose the Engineers if they handed the ball to their studly power back 25 times or more. Since they won’t, I will take them anyway.
Game #2. Mean Machine (1-0, 22/23) vs Osseo Outlaws (1-0, 26/27). The Outlaws may have the highest effective level in this league, but where the hell is Osseo? I am not looking it up either. Until someone clears that up, they are the Ohio State Outlaws in my book. Outlaws and Meanies in general are regarded as being “Richards”. This is not always a bad thing. Game #3. Ohio St Diamond Cutters (1-0, 24/24) vs Blitzburgh Steel Militia (1-0, 20/22). Hmmm, another Ohio State team? Do yall really cut diamonds in Ohio? I don’t think so. The name just does not fit. Speaking of, “I don’t think so”, this movie was owned by Hank Azaria, and freaking funny. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Li21j8os96U&feature=related As for the Militia, pretty cool name there, it works on many levels, well done. Seeing as how I am a Cowboys fan, obviously I hate the Steelers. I was five when the Cowboys lost to the Steelers in the Super Bowl (for the 2nd time) 35-31. I respect the Steelers due to their history of excellence and greatness, but I still hate em. How cool would that be if my Cowboys brought in Cowher as their next HC? I could understand alligators, or flying roaches, or even the Tampa Bay Cuban Refugees, but scorpions are there only if they are pets, right? This is a solid team, and one that should be a threat for the title. As for my favorite team in the league, the boobs from a lake (possibly a lake in Peru), are also a solid team this season. They are well-rounded, firm, and developed.
