1K I think you may be right, but the morale hit that teams take all game once the PPM Offense takes the field has to be factored into this conversation.

Theres lots of variables that make it hard to say how good our Defense is.

Mike hit one of them. The flip side of that is how lopsided our TOP is. Georgia had 40-something more plays than us and a 10 minute TOP advantage (we won by 8 TDs). I'd be interested to see a #plays/TD allowed breakdown, and I'd be willing to bet we're higher up there. I know everyone hates on perma, but so far our only loss was my fault.

But again, none of it matters. We're happy to be alive.

Short Bus was the first pure passing team to win Gold. We only ran when we needed a yard or 2 and if our opponent was covering our Wrs really well. PPM is a really good passing team and tough to stop. When you pass the ball a lot you get big yards and the TOP always favors the other team. I remember we could be 2nd and 20 and still get a first down with no problems. I think Permas defense is solid for the pressure put on him to hold the other team from scoring. After their FGC loss they have been rock solid. I remember the same thing said about Dead Ed when we were scoring at will. A few voices said his defense is average because our offense scored so much, the reality is the offense was so solid because the defense held it's own but when you start scoring 50-70 pts a game the defense takes a hit. Look at Dead Ed today, 2 teams he Dcs and 2 teams deep in the playoffs. If he was still doing my DF that be 3 teams in the 2nd round. Pretty impressive.

Big difference in a defense that wins games for you and one that just doesn't loose the game for you.

How would one win a game when one is usually ahead by 35 in the first quarter?
