So I had a player come to me wanting a release due to lack of playing time.....He was/is a level 7 player no biggie right? He was the only back up to that position...w/e, I released him, seen he signed with a new team for only 99500 a year plus I'm sure some God awful bonus but w/e how can they afford to continue to pay this outrageous prices for below average players. These teams are going to go broke....Oh ya he's still a back up also.

I don't know, the free agent market is just absolutely insane right now. It's going to stay like this until some more people join. It's a matter of supply and demand. When they can't pay their salaries and take out loans they can't pay in week ten, smart teams will be laughing.

Well, I feel like I overpaid a little bit for my team, but a) I built a new section of seats before the season started, and that really helped my income, and b) if the talent I signed gives me a home playoff game or 2, then I think it'll be worth it.

But that signing period was incredibly tough. And we were all at a disadvantage because Africa got to get into the mix first. I feel sorry for those new Canada teams they're about to add. There's not going to be any free agents to fill those teams.

you think that's bad. I had a level 12 DT turn down 2500 a day 20k SB to play for a team that offered "more than double" of both. I deleted the message or I'd check the exact number. Someone out there WAY overpaid for a DT. I was overpayin out of desperation... makes me wonder why he signed with them if they are paying stupidly... they will be bankrupt next season.

I hear you for a starting level 12 DT but this is a backup level 7 SS

I'm not sure if that was meant as a compliment, but I'm going to take it as one. You're certainly on our radar as well...

Yea the FA market is silly ridiculous. Most of the intelligent players who understand team finances get swooped up early, then you get the guys who just want the highest offer because its cool that their guy has all of this cash sitting around, doing nothing.

Hard to find people who understand the benefit of training on relaxed....saving your money up for lvl 16 gear so your team doesnt have to toss 30k bonus's to get you geared.

In general I would say we constructed a solid team (lacking a little bit of depth but nothing too bad) on a decent budge. We are in Zeta and I dont see us being at the top like Marcy, Hungary, etc but we should be competitive.

I guess I would rather be sensible and build a team of lower level guys who will stick with me for the long run. The other option is financial ruin and I am not going that way. If all the owners would just refuse crazy contract demands we would be able to bring the players back to reality. Sadly, some owners will always overpay. Oh well.

Thanks for the compliment, I really appreciate that. I looked at your team earlier, you're better than you're giving yourself credit for. And I couldn't agree more about the market, hell I'm STILL scouting for depth... and the only players that are even talking to me if I offer less than double the daily salary are experienced agents.
