Maybe I'm crazy, but I'm waiting until a big game...maybe 2nd round of the playoffs...and suddenly SBWL puts up 80+ passes and we all realize you kept the same passing builds, you just changed some tactics and tried to run the rock.

the "sliding scale" being how passing attributes are buffed at lower levels and the buff scales downward as levels go up.

Same idea, just for defense.

At least it will take all the decision making out of how you want your CBs to be built.

Oh I see. I thought he meant another slider thing for tactics.

I don't think CB's need a buff, I think they just need to get rid of Pump Fake.

Has anybody tried to adjust their CB builds to include SV?

It is in the description that it make the player less likely to be faked out by PF?

yeah my guys have used it...unfortunately i tried to hard to negate PF this season w my CB builds and my guys ended up just getting slanted to death

PF fired for me a couple of times today, but it seemed like it was very early in the play, before it could be useful.

Surge was activating often for my inside rusher, though.

I don't think PF is overpowered, the problem with PF is the same that there was with Catch fake before the update.
When there is a chance that a DB will have to change directions twice (once to crash on the fake, and once to get back in pursuit.) when the WR doesn't have to at all, too much separation is being created because of the fake.

I don't think pump fake is firing that often, if anything not enough, but it should be limited to being effective when the WR is making a cut that would actually provoke a defender to bite on a pump fake, a QB can pump all day but a CB won't abandon a guy on a fly route, mostly because a pass to him would not be better defended by crashing the LOS.

tl;dr: Pump fake doesn't fire that often, but it shouldn't be a touchdown every time it does either:
Suggestion: Increase % chance of pump fake firing, while adding the "on wr cut" limitations applied to catch fake last season.

Pump fake is broken when it has effect on players not even on the coverage and a mile away. Wheb the FS is 15 yards deep he is running forward.why would he stop and freeze when even if the qb is going to throw it he still has to make up the ground. Yes its broken. CB on WR beat, ok I"ll take that but a FS 15 yards deep freezing? Not what I pay for.

If anything the deep saftey makes more sense than the following corner, consider that a FS would actually have something to gain from crashing the LOS when a QB may have thrown the ball, the corner would essentially only be making his situation worse.

Another possible solution would be that if the WR does not make a cut that coincides with the Pump Fake (which would have the same result as now, and it would be reasonable) that the CB/FS would only lose speed in preparation for the ball being in the air, since he would NEVER crash the LOS if the WR were not cutting unless he saw the ball, as he would assume the QB would lead the WR, but may slow down to gain control in preparation for stopping, and jumping.

I also think Risk/Reward should be increased when throwing just after a pump fake, since throwing just after a fake may just have tipped off your pass.

Also, you should only be able to pump fake zone defenders near, or people in man coverage on the WR currently being looked at in progressions, nobody is that dumb.
