I got into this lottery thing in GB, and my team is Portugal. I know nothing about futbol, and was wondering from the soccer experts here what do you think the odds are of Portugal hell not just winning it all but even winning today.

Portugal is one of the most talented teams in the World, unfortunately they face an uphill battle to win the World Cup. They play the #1 ranked team in the World tomorrow in Spain. I have to think that has to be a very emotional game and I won't be surprised if they win. (Spain and Portugal have a history of under performance at the WC..) If they beat Spain tomorrow they should have a relatively easy game next round playing the winner of Paraguay v Japan. However, in order to get to the WC Final they'd have to beat either Germany or Argentina (who is playing very well this WC.)

If the Netherlands holds off Slovakia there will be 10 teams left in the tourney. I'd say that of those 10 teams Portugal would be the 5th or 6th choice to win it all at this point.

Thanks Chris, having very little knowledge of soccer, that is what I thought. If they can get by Spain they should win the next game pretty easily.

1-0????? Hell Portugal only gave up 1 goal the entire tournament......I might have a chance for a smaller prize. They have Grand Prize-Champ of the World Cup. 2nd Prize team to score most goals in Tournament. 3rd Place team to allow the fewest. Group games count. So who knows.

The reason Portugal only conceeded 1 goal all tournament is because they play with 10 men behind the ball and against Spain they rarely left their own half

And their goalie was 'off the hook'

i believe Spain had 65+% possession.

although Portugal only gave up 1 goal.. they had zero offense.
