I don't know if this has been mentioned before or there is some reasoning behind it, but when the QB is going to run or throw a screen out of shotgun, he starts with the ball as opposed to having to take the snap.

I have seen this happen on every occasion that the QB runs out of shotgun (not 5 WR).

Big bug.

The D will know its a run or a screen because the C doesnt even snap the ball before he hits someone in the D line.

While it may look buggy, the ball does jump as if it is snapped at the beginning of the play for the same amount of time as you would see in a play like this one: http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=1265895&pbp_id=7036467 where the ball starts from the center (really between the QB and Center visually). Since it does not appear to effect the sim in any way other than visually I will consider this likely not a bug.

In your replay, the ball is snapped on the 1st click and reaches QB on 2nd.

In mine QB moves on 1st click.

Am I missing something?

And still a visual bug.

I disagree that this is any form of "big" bug as nobody can gameplan or set their defense based of off this issue. I do agree, however, that there exists a visual discrepancy between the two, so I'll send it to QA as such and let them decide whether or not anything needs to be done. They need something to do anyway.

I think this is just the way the snap is coded for both. I'm not convinced it's a bug as much as just a difference in coding between different sets. In all cases the ball is moving from the snap when the play starts, that's just how the sim engine outputs the data.

I'm going to put first verification on this as Not a Bug, but if one of the other QA Mods disagrees, we can send it to Catch to investigate if it's something we'd change.

i actually agree. you can see this is other more noticable circumstances. I remember (not sure if it was fied) that HBs with very high first step actually lined up a little bit forward of where they were going to be going in the play. it doesn't really effect anything, just how it is rendered.

i'm not going to put a second verification, though. i'll let a few others come in and chime in on the issue.

It does look silly but it doesn't really make a difference, sorta like it just skips the snap. I dont see any need for this to be changed. Any more QA opinions?

I think it is a bug, but a VERY low priority visual bug that isn't affecting game play.

I don't know where it is, but i remember Bort stating that this was not something that could be easily fixed/something he's willing to fix. this is also related to the fact that the first down marker is inaccurate for these plays.

Regaurdless, it's not changing any time soon (sadly), so not a bug.
