So me and the team generally like to have fun. One could argue we would rather have fun than win. I think you can certainly say that we have always had fun but we haven't always won. So maybe that argument is true, but we are trying to win.
I like to post a lot of nonsense in forums. I like to talk about how dangerous and epic my team is. So here are some things that are always true in my opinion:
1. I respect what every team is doing. I've owned a team long enough to know how frustrating it can be. I'm not about to knock somebody's hustle here.
2. I love to run my mouth before games about how good my team is. It is both unreasonable and unpossible what I claim my team can do. I will tell them they are in trouble but I'm not about tearing down another player or another team. I don't get any joy out of tearing another team down.
3. I will never post anything inflammatory after a game. It serves no purpose. After a game the winner can just say "scoreboard" and that is done. That isn't any fun in my opinion. That is what reporters do and I'm more of a hype man. My least favorite post is something like "I guess you will shut up now." because of a couple of reasons:
- I will not
- I would like it to require some wit so that I am entertained
In short: I am trying to entertain, not inflame. There is plenty of stuff to make fun of my team about. We were 1-15 last season (because we beat the 0-16 team by 1 point in the last minute of the game). My DC can't find his goats most mornings. The owner drinks too much and has spent way too much money on yachts and jumbotrons for the team. Our biggest recruiting challenge during the off-season was replacing the singer of our house band (Dio) who died (still searching). The list goes on.
So I'm about having a good time. Looks like the guys posting so far are also. Forums with trolls and jerks just aren't as much fun so I'm going to stay away from that stuff. At some point some of you will get pm's from me saying things like "We are screwing around right?" because honestly it is important to me that I am not a jerk.
So there you go. This could be a fun season. I like what I see from the boards so far even as I know most of us are recruiting like fools.
