I know the description of this SA is for separation and acceleration, but does this SA also work for a LOT, in terms of him getting a "first step" in off the snap to react to DEs?

Is this useful for LOTs?

I bought it for my LG and love it when run blocking as he gets to the 2nd level fast. I am not sure if it would be food for an OT on either side since they have to deal with the DE right away.

theoretically it should, but my LOT is pretty far from adding SA's he's only lvl 11. you figure if the de runs past him his chance of catching him and getting a block on him should be better providing he's really high agility with good speed

DEs have sworn by it for a long time now, if that's any indication of how helpful it may or may not be.

I think it would be a nice SA for a LOT. If you chose it as part of your archetype, you can easily get it up to ~10.

I am sure it might be helpful but there are other AEQ I would personally rather have instead namely Protect and hold block %

Those are definitely the top 2 for a LOT. First Step would be in the next tier of options for people wearing 3 or 4 pieces of AEQ although I would probably put Foundation before it.
