NOW IT'S TIME TO TALK ABOUT WHERE THE BIG BOYS PLAY!!
Coming to the starting line in lane one.. is the preseason favorite for the Elephant Conference Championship... it's Carthage (Mad) Clash
!!! The Mad Clash have been billed as the team of destiny this season.. after a tough loss in the championship game last season they've taken it out on everybody they've played this season (so I suppose that we should all thank GRiTS for pissing them off)! With an offense that averages over 66 points per game and racks up over 600 yards per game this team is tough to deal with. What's unbelievable about those 600 yards is the balance.. 291/game by land 312/game by air! They are the home to the conferences leading rusher (by 2.5 yards damn that was a close one).. Dexter Spiller racked up over 3,000 yards rushing (8.9/ carry) and took it to paydirt 47 times!! Don't get me wrong though.. they aren't just a scoring machine.. the defense is no slouch either... only allowing 14 points per game.. they ended the regular season #5 in hurries, #2 in sacks, #6 in pass deflections and #5 in thievery (picks).. the Mad Clash just seem to do it all well.. and that's probably the reason that they're in the championship game for the second season in a row!!
Coming to the starting line in lane two.. is the high octane monster known as the Nairobi Warthogs!! Last season the Warthogs were 13-3 and it's hard to improve on a record like that but they finished out this season at 14-2.. this offense is filled with thouroughbreds and they're built to run (and fast). Led by their young QB Shocker General (it's yard to believe that he's this good and still gaining XP) who slings the ball all over the place (to the tune of 411 yards/game.. with 62 TDs and QB Rating of 109.1 WTF).. but a QB is only as good as who he's throwing it to and they have two studs catching the ball as well.. they were one receiving yard away from having two 2,000 yard receivers (I was just happy my WR got over 1,000) add in two HBs with 275 broken tackles combined and that's a recipe for points.. about 67.8 per game to be exact.. and 590 yards of offense a game!! Statistically the defense stacks up really well also.. #2 in hurries, #3 in sacks, #1 in pass deflections and #3 in theivery (see above).. the Warthogs are a team to built for success!
Like PP said before it's only fitting that the Clash finished this season at 15-1 and have to play the only team that managed to beat them in the championship is it redemption time or have the found their cryptonite? The Warthogs pounded the ball and controlled the clock to make sure that the Mad Clash couldn't come out on top.. can they do it again....? I say we just promote them both to WL because I don't want either one of them in Elephant next season with something to prove
