Lion Conference:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
PHP VS. Sahara Sand Monsters:
It looks like SSM will get win #3 for the season!
Rwanda Headhunters VS. Zambezi Silverbacks:
The Silverbacks just came out from behind the woodshed.. and I have a feeling that they're going to take it out on the Headhunters!! Rwanda really needs to win out to have the opportunity to be the D9 round one sacrificial lamb.. but I don't think they have big enough guns to take down these Silverbacks!!
Bamako Black Magic VS. Carthaginian War Elephants:
The Black Magic are coming off a tough loss at the hands of the Storm.. just in time to face quite possibly the hottest team in APL... the War Elephants. After starting out 1-3 the War Elephant stomp had been in full force winning 9 of the last 10. They've scored 1058 points in the last 10 games (yeah there were two cupcakes in there but still..) and only given up 108.. that's domination!! BBM is representing themselves well this season.. and will be in the playoffs.. but the War Elephants are just too much for any black magic right now!!
Uganda Silverbacks VS. LOL:
Uganda is in the middle of their own morale death spiral right now.. they're free falling and need to hit the breaks quick.. while LOL has been quietly improving and putting together a respectable season.. I'm sure that LL has spent plenty of time on this game as the Silverbacks look to turn things around before the playoffs.. I'll take Uganda in this one but not by much... 7
Ironton Tanks VS. Sahara Storm:
The Storm are on cruise control right now.. they have already locked up the #3 seed and might even be resting their starters... okay probably not.. For the Tanks the tracks have already fallen off.. good news is they'll be back to represent next season.. bad news is this season isn't going to end nice!! Bolt down anything you can in Tank Memorial Stadium.. because there's a viscious storm coming!!
Nigeria VS. Massawa Redhorns:
What's this a 4 game win streak for the Redhorns.. that's how you know it's the second half of the season!! The Daydreams pose no threat to Massawa and that streak will extend to 5!!
Pretoria Crusaders VS. Cybertron War Machine:
The Crusaders were finally able to stop that losing streak that they had going.. but the playoffs are just a distant dream now.. but they can hold their heads high after a solid first season in APL... the War Machine on the other hand... must have gotten their circuits crossed on the way up here... because ever since they have arrived they've been struggling this season.. good news is they still get to play PHP so they ought to be around next season.. but they'll need to figure some things out between now and then! Crusaders will take down the War Machine today...
Somali Pirates VS. District 9 Prawns:
This ought to be the first game done today.. with two teams that combine for 100 rushing attempts per game.. I think the clock may only stop at half time!! D9 is the top dog.. and unfortunately for Somali they will see why today! Sorry Husker.. I don't think you can win this one so I'll give you a different goal instead.. can Lane West and Natasha Kai put up more rushing yards then any other team so far this season (Black Magic currently hold the top place with 54.5 rushing yards).. that'll be a good way to test out D9 for your first round playoff match up!!

Elephant Conference:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Nairobi Warthogs VS. Ivory Coast Breakers:
The Warthogs are on a 6 game win streak (5 of which against teams that are playoff bound).. I'd say they're pretty hot right now!! They have a very explosive offense and the Breakers will need to find a way to get to League Leading QB Shocker General... otherwise he Pokey and A. Pryde will eat them alive!!
The African Predators VS. Angola Blood Diamonds:
The Predators are just too much for Angola this season... Vegas you like goals.. so here's your goal this week. No team, that isn't making the playoffs, has been able to lose by less the 40 points to the Predators this season.. If you can do that.. the Blood Diamonds can consider this a moral victory (which is still a L but it feels better).. Predators are still hunting for a better playoff spot!!!
MaRawk!!o Evil Aces VS. Pirgos Warlords:
The Warlords are coming off their visit to murderers row (Predators, Ratels and Warthogs 3 games in a row).. while the Evil Aces must be feeling not so Evil right now.. they might even be a little slap happy!! Best thing you can do is just smile and take what's coming as the Warlords use this game to stop the free fall!!!
Kickin Djibouti VS. Uganda Mounties:
Well look at this... there's life left in Kickin after all.. riding a 4 game win streak and looking at the chance to finish at .500 ( which would be incredible after losing 8 of their first 10).. but this is definitely a team that they can't take lightly.. the Mounties have won 3 of their last 4 and are also showing that they have some life left in them too! This one is really a coin toss to me.. if Uganda can run the ball effectively (they average 48 attempts per game) they can control the clock and take down Kickin.. I think that they will... the Mounties avoid getting Kicked!! by 9
Mauritius Mountain Lions VS. Somalia Warlords:
well there will be no playoff appearance for either of these teams.. the Mountain Lions shouldn't have much trouble with the Warlords this week though...
Kiev Dynamos VS. Sons of Anubis:
The Dynamos started strong with a favorable early season schedule.. but now they're in the middle of a nightmare run.. having lost 5 of their last 6 (and their last two are no lightweights either).. if they can't take down the Sons today they could end the season at .500 and backslide right into the first round of the playoffs.. The Sons need to win out to hold onto the #6 seed this season...
Rhodesia Ratels VS. Sahara Sand Storm:
The Ratels are looking to finish out a great season.. ending 14-2 would make most anybody happy!! While S3 is just looking for the season to finish.. this game won't even be close..
Carthage Mad Clash VS. Swaziland Dachshunds:
** GAME OF THE WEEK **
No other game is more important this week then this one!! The Mad Clash are sitting at 13-1 and a victory locks in home field advantage throughout the conference playoffs... but if the Dachshunds can take down Carthage that sets up a 4 way tie for 1st place!! (and I don't know all of the tie breakers.. but I think it would give these little ankle biters home field).. So let's just say that this is for the #1 seed
Wow.. I looked at everything for this game... both teams are in the top 3 in points per game.. the top 3 in points allowed per game.. Carthage averages over 600 yards per game and Swazi averages 530... If Swazi wants to take down the top seeded Carthage they'll have to follow the Warthogs blue print.. control the clock to keep Carthage off the field.. This one just comes down to who can establish their running game.. both teams average over 300 yards per game on the ground.. but both teams allow 50 yards per game on the ground (or less).. This one will be decided by turnovers.. and I think that's where Swaziland tips the scales they've forced 48 turnovers this season to Carthage's 31 (and they've only turned the ball over 25 times this season to the Mad Clash's 29).. seriously that's the only advantage I could find.. and since it is required that the top of APLs Elephant Conference is straight chaos... Dachshunds by 3!!
