Ok I have a pass blocking left outside tackle, and I have been trying to add a 3rd piece of AEQ and rolled a +3 agility +1 Pancake piece, which is a pretty nice O-line piece, except possibly at LOT.

I currently have a +2 Vis/+1 Protector piece and a +3 agi/+1 foundation piece equiped. Should I stop and call it a day and use the +3 agi/+1 pancake as my 3rd piece or with the penalties to pass blockers is pancake useless? I could try and hold out for a second Protector piece with +attributes or +attributes/5% hold block chance.

But god it gets old rolling for AEQ week after week in search of a decent piece.

get a +3 +5% hold block piece and be golden. pancake is more than useless at lot

Yeah the team doesnt really need you to be getting pancakes. Just being in the way on running plays to the right is usually enough in GLB.In real life yeah you got crazy sick DEs who can chase down a play behind line, which I always felt were my biggest plays at DE in real ball. In GLB your player has a max speed, in real life I could throw on the jets when I saw a play like that unfold.

Pancakes aren't just helpful on one play though.

They lead to morale hits to the defenders which in turn makes the defenders play worse. Ever seen how bad a blue-faced defensive lineman looks in the replays?

That said I think hold block % will be a lot more valuable to your player simply because you don't have it yet.

Yeah the only problem is finding one. Just rolled a +2 agi/+1 shock block piece today, which isn't a bad piece but its in the same slot as my +2 vis/+1 protector so not sure its really worth paying 4 BT's to switch slots, when a hold block% would really be best to round out the build.

it might all change once the new system comes out anyways, but you may want a 5% hold block piece at that point more than you would your foundation piece. (I am guessing you will no longer be able to run 3 AEQ after the change)

This game has a cruel since of humor. Tonight on my run blocking ROT I rolled a +3 agi/+1 protector.

So over the course of a couple of nights I rolled probably the best equipment pieces for lineman, but on the wrong lineman.

I haven't seen a blue-faced anything past Level 40 anywhere, so... no, I haven't.

Maybe next season, when the full brunt of the Energy / Morale changes hit us.

i used to think that pancakes were not as good as advertised. but this season i saw one of my players, literally destory every de he has met. It was close during the first quarter but once he got his first pancake and his skilled stacked on the de he basically had one pancake a play after that. Plus if you look at his build it is nothing special attribute wise, SA and VA and AEW get him where he is, if people want to see his build hit me up. he is not on one of my own teams so its not fair to advertise his build if potential competition.

If you build to make a pancake player, they are great, but if you go for a different type of build hold block always wins out. Truthfully i went pancake cause i couldnt find hold block. not upset now but always wondering......

On my LT I have a +3 strength +1 Protector and a +3 agility +5% Hold Block. Both are fully upgraded and I'm very happy to have found them both.
