This, you can see the pump fake trigger. Plus the DB's often all freeze at the same time.

This was LSMM's QB from a couple seasons ago, so I have no idea of the build, but I knew I could find this link right away:

http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=994191&pbp_id=19446249

Watch it frame by frame...you can see the ball come back and then forward and then he throws it.

But to your point, Gerr...some of them are pretty subjective when trying to figure out if they fired or not.

I don't think it's that black and white. I agree that you shouldn't rely on just the archetypes when tagging a speedback vs powerback, but with the archetypes, you can start to tag more positions. For example, you can look to see if there is a scatback in one or both of the RB spots, a receiving vs blocking TE, power vs speedy/possession WR, run vs pass blocking OL, etc.

Some teams might mix things up or purposely to confuse other teams. For example, some might use the opposite archetype, like make a speedback with the Powerback Archetype, but few will do that because most non-owner agents will want their new players to move on to the next level, and that mainly works for Pee-Wee.

Honestly I only used archetypes for one thing.. and that's major attribute gains. I could care less what they are titled.. scat, power, etc... it's all about getting the most out of your build or even vice versa, getting gains in categories you don't necessarily want to waist skill points on but still want to increase.

Archetypes makes the initial part of figuring out a player's role easier, which goes to my original point. However people are correct in that more research will need to be done to verify the player is used in the same role as their archetype.

I specifically made players with opposite archetypes to throw off tagging and balance builds.

I don't know, either, but I could tell you what an archetype is

Here are some types of arches:

A blind arch is an arch infilled with solid construction so it cannot function as a window, door, or passageway.

A dome is an arch rotated 360 degrees about its vertical axis.

Natural rock formations may also be referred to as arches. These natural arches are formed by erosion rather than being carved or constructed by man.

A vault is an arch extended along the axis perpendicular to the its plane; the groin vault is the intersection of two vaults.

I was trying to get into this girl's groin vault, but her boyfriend was a football player and had other ideas.
