Freedom Town Band of Brothers vs. Three Mile Island Meltdowns
Starting off with a good one here folks. TMI just came off a tough loss but I'm sure it won't discourage them. FTBB is currently on a bit of a skid but they too are resilient so I doubt recent history will come into play in this game. I think this one comes down to QBs. Troy can throw some dangerous passes at times and that can be a death knell in a game this tight. Look for Josh King to make fewer mistakes and lead FTBB to the win tonight. Band of Brothers by 13
Death Dealers vs. Telstar Rebels
This is another game that on paper looks like a toss up. Telstar has a season of OPL on the Death Dealers and that sometimes can be a factor in these kinds of games. I think this one comes down to who has the most OPL-ready AI and that will be Telstar. On the other hand there is a lot of time before the game so DD may have been cooking something up for just such a swing game. Rebels by 9
Christchurch Fighting Maori vs. (N.M.I) Pagan Fire Eaters
Grudge match here girls and boys. N.M.I. would like nothing more than to steal this one from the Maori and the question to me is which team has been growing faster this season. The Fire eaters have been for sure and while the Maori seem to have a bit of an advantage I wouldn't overlook these young kids from Pagan. I like both of these teams and while I would like to see a barn burner here I expect Christchurch to be too much for N.M.I. and win this one going away. Maori by 24
Guam Chamoros Rising Sun Devils vs. Micronesia Megalodons
Guam can get a W today if they are still working over there but if they have packed it in they will stay winless as MM is still a tough team. I actually think the Sun Devils will pull this one off but not by much. Guam by 3
Gold Coast Vipers vs. Fiji Ventures
GCV, just like any of us, will gladly take an easy W and that is what they have in front of them tonight. We ay see Fiji again one day but this will be a short stint in OPL unless something miraculous happens. This is not going to be fun to watch unless you have a player at the Vipers and you are under 12 years old. GCV by a gazillion
Eastern European Alliance vs. Springville Renagades
This is another game that could be a GOTW candidate. Springville is feeling pretty good about themselves as always and rightly so. EEA on the other hand is probably not quite as pleased with their performance up to this point and thus will be working extra hard to win out. That doesn't mean that the Renagades can't win here but I think the Alliance will be too much for the boys from Springville tonight. EEA by 10
Indianapolis Gurupies vs. Gold Coast Michelin Men
I guess this would have to be in the discussion for game of the week and I am afraid it may end up being too good and having too many favorable entertainment qualities for my liking. Indy is absolutely on fire and may be undefeated if they had another go at that game against EEA early in the season. No team has grown as much as the Gurupies since week one and they were already at the top which spells disaster for all those trying to hang with them. My boys have been working hard but to be honest the more we watch this team the more concerned we get. At this point it is anybodies guess as to what they are going to do and whether or not we are going to guess right but if we do catch them where we want them I think we can win this game. With that said it is going to be an uphill battle and I honestly can't pick us to win here but I can tell you we will be giving it 100%. Gurupies take 1st Place by 9
Melbourne Marvels vs. Taylor Bulldogs
Melbourne is quietly hanging around the 1st group and would love nothing more than to win a few more without fanfare while teams around them drop like flies. That is a distinct possibility as they have another very winnable game tonight and others have some real challenges. Taylor is still a team that can beat you but were either a bit overrated earlier or have dropped off on their commitment. either way the Bulldogs need to come out with some renewed fervor or they will drop another one in a conference where you can't drop many.
