It all boils down to this. Two 16-0 teams in the regular season facing off for the gold trophy. It's not often that things fall perfectly into place but this time it has. Here's a summary of the matchup.

Ironton - They're just a monster of a team. High level 60s all over the place. They dominated all year long and deserve to be in the title game. There's nothing spectacular here....they just play hard nosed defense and have a rather no-nonsense offense. The strategy seems to be that they know they're better than everyone else and as long as they don't beat themselves, they're gonna win every time. The only tough game they had all season was in the conference championship where Wallachia appeared to find some green kryptonite but even that wasn't enough. The Wamphyrii put up more rushing yards in that one game than the Tanks had given up all season combined. The question is, how do the Tanks respond? Do they make adjustments or just look at things and say "well....we won anyway so no need to go back to the drawing board".

Darfur - Looking at the levels, Darfur doesn't have a chance. But they have looked as good as anyone and unlike Ironton, did not struggle in their conference championship. The Depopulators are likely going over the Ironton/Wallachia game with a fine toothed comb, simply b/c they have a lot of similarities with Wallachia. They were the top two running attacks in the league this season and Wallachia proved that the Tanks can be run on.....and it helps if you're a good guesser . Also like Wallachia, they have a running QB. James Brown is not a dual threat like the Vicktimizer but he rushed for over 1000 yds and if used the right way, could cause Ironton some problems.

The game - Ironton boasts high level 60s at most positions. The Depopulators will need to not only utilize the Wallachia gameplan but improve upon it to have a chance today. Darfur is 16-0 for a reason and I anticipate their staff will be ready for this showdown. Ironton meanwhile is simply taking care of business. While I wish the best of luck for both teams, I just don't think Darfur has quite enough for the Tanks.

Prediction: Ironton doesn't settle for FGs this time around. Darfur is game and makes a good run in the first half but will not be able to keep it up for 60 minutes. Ironton 24 - Darfur 13

I agree with you Scully. I've watched 5 games of Darfur so far, and they mirror Wallachia, especially with Brown/Vick comparison.
We found ONE huge glitch in our tagging system....which I don't want to say what it is in hopes that Darfur tries to take advantage of it. We've also revamped our Red Zone offense, which should help a little.
I have faith in our defense, which has only given up 2 offensive td's this season, both were on 4th down and goal plays. Darfur is a great running team, so it should be an interesting game.
I am sure Darfur will be ready, but so will the Tanks.
Thanks for doing the write ups this season.

Dan Dominate gets a pick TD in the final minutes of the 4th quarter to seal what is an epic victory for Darfur 30-27 imo.

Well... As the OC of Darfur.... I can say I have not looked at or planned for todays game. We have been on cruise control since last season.

I made one change 2 weeks ago... Can anyone tell what it is?

Other than that, we have not looked at anyone this season.

Should I take the time for this game? If I can get to it in the next 4 hours I will.

If not, good luck Irontron! You should (by the numbers) handle us easily!

To start: GG Darfur.

We held Darfur to 60+ yards of total offense, so I am very pleased with our defensive performance. Darfur did try to attack us with J. Brown, after the success Vick had against us with Wallachia, but we made a few adjustments. Darfur's defense played well today too. They came ready to play, so you have to give them credit.

There are some great up and coming teams in this league, such as Uganda, FJB, Darfur, J-burg, Serengeti, Le Thor, and of course Wallachia. The playing field will be a bit more even next season as the majority of the Tanks have already began declining. Hopefully, you kids will take it easy on the old guys next season. We will be on the field with our canes and walkers.

On and final note, it was a great season for us, and there are teams here who has certainly earned mine, and the Tanks respect. C U guys in S14.

We lost pretty bad, but I still had fun watching Biscuit go to town on a higher level O-line, so GG Ironton

You forgot to mention he's a declining OL. Oh yeah and no sacks. Small victories though I suppose...
