LOL, that just reminded me of an old SEA AA team we used to tease, the San Fran Gold Rush.

The league kept harassing them to change their name to reflect the region, until one day a Gold Rush GM (Voltron?) declared that there was a San Francisco in the Phillipines. I researched it and found that it was true - but it's a town of about 10,000 people in the middle of nowhere! High comedy ensued.

Nowadays, no one cares as much. But that was a funny episode back then...

We spent a lot of time finding a unique city name that went well with our team name. The team really liked it and it stuck. When we moved we did not want to change the name.
