The defense was obviously in a zone, because the guy was between the MLB and the FS, not the CB who was originally on him

i am just a noob here. so my opinion isnt much but it appears the MLB needed more vision(and speed )
CB had two choices came up to cover the HB in the flat and release the WR. or cover WR and leave HB open.
he chose the former
MLB froze while reading the play (actually moved up a little towards the line of scrimmage) and let the WR behind him While the FS stayed over the top on 2 WR and didnt have enough speed to cover the WR after the catch in the seam

MLB might have had a shot at deflction or a tackle if he had read the play a second or two quicker. tactics may have been geared towards the run as well which would explain the first movement towards the line.

You do realize more than half of the defense was CPU and those who weren't were at highest level 10?

yes i have gone through and looked at a number of games from the pee wees through the world leagues the simulator seems good the ai for d leagues gears towards the run as passing is iffy at best.
the speed of the game increases as well as player reaction time dropping.
the fact that most of the d including the MLB were cpus does not appear to me to have any bearing on this
i may be wrong and most likely am because i dont know much about this game but i dont see how that invalidates my analysis?
should i just assume the simulator and cpu players will do something stupid always?

The D was in a dime (3 CBs SS, FS, 2 LB, 4 DL) and the CB on the Inside Left WR jumped forward, possibly going in on the CB blitz. then the FS and The SS separated, allowing the WR to have a wide open gap. the MLB stepped forward, he may have been m-m with the HB, and so thought he might be on an outside run. then, he probably realized it wasn't and pulled back to cover the WR in the open middle slot. the FS got carried by momentum away from the wide out. so I'm thinking that this was a big misplay by the defense. The MLB might have been on the WR.
