Here in lies the problem:

Band makes money writing solid Rock songs while F'd up.....Someone tells band that if they continue to Stay F'd up they will die and not enjoy the Money they have made...Band realizes that Being Sober might make their music SUCK, but they get big houses, hot broads and all the other perks that come with it.

Band sobers up.....music goes to shit.

Are you serious Sik? First of all, you get flex back to go CPU early. That right there is an incentive enough for a lot of people to not wait.
