i think both help, get low more so...

But for most o-line positions, right side of the line and C, these are the only SAs I invest in.

run blocking:

- guys collide
- blocker rolls block ability roll vs defender shed block roll
- winner gets to decide what happens next
- if blocker wins, he gets to shove the defender back based on a push back roll, modified by the defender's SA's and stats
> Also, check for pancake

So, what is the pancake roll based on? Your block ability roll? Your push back roll? Or an entirely different pancake roll? It is hard to tell from Bort's explanation above.

However, here is how I picture it... There are a ton of rolls...

1) block ability roll - uses all of your stats, and the "run block" SA
1B) morale roll - modified by the "hands" ability or the "absorb pain" roll depending on who won the interaction
2) push back roll - uses all of your stats, and the "get low" SA (wall for DE)
3) pancake roll - uses all of your stats, and the "pancake" SA.

So yeah, I think the SAs just add a value to your roll... Like the roll is basically just some formula (random numbers)

10*blocking + 5*agility + 8*strength + 20*run block (only IF the SA fires)
and the DE also has a roll
10* agility + 8*strength + 1* blocking + 5*vision

Then based on your rolls, a decision is made randomly. Either the rolls themselves are modified by a random multiplier, then compared linearly, or the rolls are first compared and you get a "win probability" which is rolled against.

So anyway, my interpretation is that run bock and get low will not help you get pancakes.
