All right, it's getting crunch time, and we have some good games this week!
In Alpha, we have the #3 Springville Renegades taking on #4 Booty Island in what looks like to be a good game, and could shake up the playoff seeds. But that's only if the Green Goblins bring their A game!! Springville has a pretty impressive record, beating The AREC from Zeta in a nail biter game, and only two losses, one to Easter Island of course, and a close fought loss to Tricity. They have dominated every other team thay have played this season.
Booty Island brings the same record to the table, but they have had some very close wins in several games, and just haven't dominated quite like The Renegades. If the Green Goblins bring their best game, this could be a close game. But I'm putting my money on Springville to win this one by a couple of TD's.
The Growing Buds need a win over the 3-11 Mighty Norsemen to hold on to their place in the playoffs, and even though the Norsemen don't have a good record, they have kept it close in a lot of games this season, and they match up pretty well with the Buds. If the Buds want to make it to the playoffs, they better not overlook the Norsemen from Mighty. Where is Mighty by the way?
Easter Island and Tricity should have no problems with their games, to hold on to their already solid grip on #1 and #2 in Alpha.
Cook Island should win their game no problem against Cairns City, and looks to move into 4th place, pending the outcome of the Springville Booty game.
Vanuatu has an easy win against Poseidon, and will likely stay in 7th place.
On to Zeta.........
Big game here!!!!! Sydney takes on the Zeta leader Rutgers!!
Rutgers is the team to beat, and so far they have been a team that has dominated their oppenents. They embarassed the AREC, and Sydney is coming off a recent loss to the AREC, although it was a very close game. Rutgers has weaknesses, and a team like Sydney has the talent to exploit them, and come away with the upset. Question is, can Sydney figure out those weaknesses, and if Rutgers exploits Sydney's weaknesses, this game could get ugly. The Flames are the underdogs here, and that's why I'm pulling for them to come home with the upset!!!
Another great game will be the #5 Quebec Eh's and my favorite team, The Red Elephant Club from Alabama, sitting at #3. Quebec is a solid team with only a few close losses, except against Rutgers. But they gave Sydney and Newcastle about all they could handle, and I don't expect it to be any different in this game. Bama may be the slight favorite in this game, but not by much. This should be another great game, and Bama has pulled out a few wins this season thanks to turnovers, and The Red Elephants will be looking for a few turnovers in this game also!
The Ghosts, who hold the #2 position, take on #6 Portland, and if Portland pulls this one out, it would be a huge upset. But the Crackers have all the tools to do it, but they are going to have to come up with something new, that will give their offense some new crisp, as they are about to face a team that is on a scary run of victories. The Ghosts somehow got revived this season, and they came to play some football!!!!
