Can anyone explain to me why Raipe is in the top spot and not Sully? I'm not understanding it adds up...

1 reason. It's what Sully has around him and what Raipe doesn't. Don't get me wrong, the Tide have great offensive weapons but lets compare:

WR for Tide:
lvl 55
lvl 54
lvl 47
lvl 46
lvl 45

WR for Da Nang:
lvl 61
lvl 58
lvl 56
lvl 51
lvl 48

Also take a look at the O-lines protecting the QBs. Raipe has been hurried 52 times and sacked 14 times while Sully has been hurried only 22 times and sacked 0 times.

In addition, Da Nang has the no.1 rushing offense to take the pressure off of Sully while the Tide only have the no.12 rushing offense.

Yet with all these advantages Sully has around him, Raipe has just 3 fewer TD passes than Sully and the same amount of interceptions. I think this answers your question.

RAIPE AND PANZER FOR MVP

I suppose it has to do with whether or not you are looking for Offensive and Defensive player of the year awards vs. MVPs. I agree that Raipe and Panzer make good candidates for MVP because Alabama would be severely hindered by their absence. However, Da Nang would probably still have the same record even if we lost Thor Agility (our stud DT) or Sully Ross (Awesome QB).

If I were to vote for POY, I think Thor and Sully would get the nod over Raipe and Panzer (Thor because his stats are from the DT position and Sully because he's SLIGHTLY ahead of Raipe in all the important categories). However since this an MVP award, I suppose Raipe and Panzer have an edge. They are all fine players, and have made major contributions to their respective teams. All of them deserve recognition (along with some other players in the Naga conference). Unfortunately it doesn't always work out that way.

So with that said, I hope that DNA (Da Nang Armageddon) can quench Sully and Thor's disappointment of not getting an MVP trophy by getting a conference and league championship trophy. Those are the ones that really matter.

Very well said. I think it's more of a toss-up between Panzer and Thor because of Thor's 32 sacks but then again Panzer has a rediculous 88 tackles and an even more rediculous 21 forced fumbles. But regardless they are both the class of the league. As far as Raipe and Sully, I think if you put Raipe in the Da Nang offense with those kind of players around him he will out perform what Sully has put up now. They're both so good though, its tough to pick a winner.

You are of course entitled to your opinion about Raipe and Sully, but keep in mind that the stats are fairly similar regarding yardage and TDs while Raipe has attempted 202 more passes. This is why Sully's QB rating is 146.6 and Raipe is at 121.6. There is a clear difference between yards per attempt and yards per completion (over 3 yards!) which really helps that stat. I think Raipe is an excellent QB, but I think it's hard to speculate how he'd do in a completely different offense. Our passing attack is significantly different that Alabama's. Either way, I think we're extremely fortunate to have a QB the caliber of Sully (and you guys the same for Raipe). Best of luck in the playoffs!
