After a rather uneventfull week 5, let's take a look at week 6.
Over in Alpha, things should stay pretty much status quo, although there a a couple of games that may shake things up a bit.
Darwin Hardline vs Vanuatu Reef Raiders
Darwin is starting one of their best seasons yet, remaining undefeated after 5 games. But they may be facing their toughest challenge in the Reef Raiders. Fans of the Reef Raiders are scratching their heads about the slow start to their season, and their #11 ranking. But Vanuatu has faced a very difficult schedule, and have played well except for the thrashing they took from the Tricity Cardinals. The Reef Raider offense has struggled this season, but seemingly came to life last week, with an impressive beat down against the Teutonic Knights.
Has Vanuatu finally figured out how to get their offense going? We'll see this week for sure, against a very strong Hardliner defense.
Another game to watch is Springville and the Royal Army. Springville is up by one game, but both teams look evenly matched. The Army sports a level 58 QB, while Springville has a defense that will put fear in a QB's heart! Should be a great game!!
Another interesting game, is the Cook Island Power rangers against the Teutonic Knights. Cook Island has had a very good season so far, and are looking to improve their standings in the rankings. The Knights come off an embarrassing loss to the Reef Raiders, but still hold on to the #4 position. Gotta like the Rangers in this one!!!
Some interesting games in Zeta this week also...
The undefeated Sydney Flames take on the Westland Warriors a team that has yet to win a game this season. But don't discount the Warriors completely, they have held their own in every game so far, and they have played some very good teams. Sydney better not overlook this team, or it may be closer than the bookies think!
#5 Atlantis Armegeddon takes on #8 Wagga Wagga, in what promises to be a great game, as both teams bring some very talented starters to the playing field. Depth may be the deciding factor in this game, and I expect this one to come down to the wire!!
And in what may be one of the most exciting games of the week, the #2 Willies takes on the #3 Red Elephant Club!!
Both teams have only one loss each, both coming in season opener nail biters against 2 of the best teams from Alpha.
Bama features some really talented players on both offense and defense. Bama likes to take advantage of it's two highly talented QB's, and it's bevy of talented WR's in the passing game, but isn't shy to rely on one of the top RB's in the game, Major Speed!
Rutgers also has a very impressive offense, but their defense looks to be one of their biggest strengths, as they have highly talented starters, and a ton of talented backups, not to mention some very creative and talented defensive GM's. The League Projector has picked Rutgers as the favorite in this game, by 30 points, but I think this game is a toss up, and may even come down to special teams play.
I'm calling for an upset, and for Bama to pull this one out by a tusk's length, of course I'm a bit biased.
Lot's of close games this week, so good luck everyone!!!
Trying to pick em is tough.....
