I'm bragging a bit...but I'm gonna brag anyways....I shot 72 today, on a par 70 course. I've done a lot better back in my heyday as a serious golfer, but I just turned 40 last month, and I took a 10 year hiatus away from golf, and only got back into it about 2 months ago. So cut me some slack, I'm pumped about my 72. I was 5 over for the first nine, which we started at just a little after 5 pm, when it was 95 degrees.
We made the turn at just around 7pm, so we knew we had to speed it up just a bit. We played as a three-some the first nine, with a guy that worked for the FBI for the whole Southeast. He said he worked crime scences, stuff like that. I asked him if he was like CSI....he just said "kinda like that"... I decided at that point to not ask him any more questions.
Anyways, on the back nine, I bogied number 10 and number 11 to get to seven over. On the long par 5 number 12, I nailed a 3 wood from abot 250 out, to get within about 50 feet for eagle. I lagged up for an easy birdie. I went on to get 4 more birdies on the next 5 holes, thanks to some good iron shots and a good chip shot! I was making everything inside of about 10 feet!!!!
First time I've shot a 72 in quite a long time, almost 10 years. Thanks guys for letting me share.....not that most of you give a rat's ass!!!
