I would always inform them and most likely allow them to find their own trade or at least have a say in where they go. In this case, it sounds as though the owner had the player's best interests in mind, whether he informed him or not. On the other side, posting a thread like this automatically defines you as a total douche bag.


Also, mightyjoey forgot to tell everyone that I only signed this guy last week and that he never even played one game. It was not like I traded my star player without a heads up. I did not even know who the hell I was trading. I keep saying this. I did not recognize his guy's name. all I saw was two offensive linemen for 1.5 million. Sounds good. Then, I get home from work and this stuff is on the boards, without a pm.

again, a totally irrelavent point. trading players who were just signed (there is a 6 day hold on trading new players) is in extremely poor taste and routinely results in public disclosure of the team owners activity. deal with it. you essentially traded this player at the very first opportunity.

so you're saying then that you didn't know who you had signed? and further, you're admitting that you did not evaluate the trade pieces involved? BS. half of team ownership revolves around player and agent management, you knew exactly who and what you were trading.

If a player does not want to be traded ask for a no trade clause. I am sure RL teams dont ask if they can trade a player away.

That was my point. Trades are between owners. Players that don't want to be traded should only sign no trade contracts.
