im on the team as the backup strong saftey and im not completley happy with everything but i dont complain i just suck it up and go on, however we got about 3 guys that are either second or third string that complain because they dont start...its rediculous the gm (Steel City Mafia) knows what he is doing...its sad how backups that get solid playing time are bringing down this team...we went from the best team in the league to the 4th place team in the confernce

well its impossible to comment from the outside looking in.

At the Ponkos we make a solid concerted effort to ensure the backups get good PT. In some instances we even rotate the backups into a starting position sometimes.

That said nobody on the team is promised a starting spot and in that way nobody feels hard done by if they are backup. If your GM promised people starting spots then renaged I can understand why people are unhappy.

If however they are just unhappy at being backups they should realise that backups are essential cogs in a winning team.

I have the utmost respect for our backups (including one of my own players) they are every bit as important as our starters and do one hell of a job.

Only one promise was made, that was to Te Baggums. He started every game of the season at the number 2 CB. He was moved down to 3 last game, not as a demotion, but for a tactical reason to cover their 3rd WR.

The player who took over for Baggums, Willy Polan, I had sent out contracts to 3 of his players. 1 to his level 16 WR, 1 to his level 16 G and 1 to his CB. I sent all 3 contracts because I know some players like to group their players on teams and he had 3 FA's at the same time (right after game 4). In the messages I sent with the contracts, I had explained to him that his G and WR would come in as starters and his CB would be number 3 (WR Wes Chapman wasn't on the team at the time). Well, after some time, either he got the messages mixed up or whatever, but he thought his CB was brought in to be the starter. He only accepted the contract for the CB which was the player I wanted least. I even explained to him in the forum that his G and WR were the 2 players that I wanted. He even came in only expecting to be a KR/PR for some reason, titled his thread "New KR/PR/CB". I posted this...

Just a few things I'd like you to work on.

1) Your energy is really low. You're sitting at 54 right now, train on relaxed as much as possible to get that built back up.

2) We have our KR/PR who is well built for mainly the PR/KR position. We can get more from your player if you work on some of the shutdown skills as well. Plus stamina, agility, tackling and catching. But you will be placed right behind him on the depth chart for PR/KR. I'm not too sure when they're going to implement injuries into the game, so it's always good to have someone who is multi-talented to fill more than one role.

First, work on getting your energy up, then we can take things from there.

P.S. I really wanted your WR and G. We're shorter there than anywhere.

But this situation took care of itself with Baggums being a complete fucking douchebag. Polan has had a better build than Baggums and asked about the situation a couple games ago. I even explained to him that I made Baggums a promise and that Baggums most likely would be gone after the season anyhow and asked him to just play 3rd CB for now. He was fine with it after we spoke about it. But like I said, the move to push Baggums to 3rd against Pheonix was a gameplan, not a demotion.

The back-up RB, Bailey made claims that I promised him a starting position, then changed his words to I mislead him about it. Here's a piece from a PM I sent him before last season was up about our RB situation.

As it looks, we're probably be losing Parker. That would put you and Law in basically neck and neck race for the starting position. Actually he has just a slight edge because of his build. If there was a game today and Parker wasn't in the line-up, Law would start and you would be the number 2. So whoever boosts and adjusts their build better is going to be the starter.

Somehow, he made that out to be I "promised" or "mislead" him. Where it clearly states "whoever boosts and adjusts their build better is going to be the starter". That was before Johnson came in and he thought he was only gonna be challenged by Law. But by me stating whoever has the best build should tell someone that the better player is gonna start.

We had lost a QB who was more of a locker room problem than a benefit on the field. He made it clear that he'd rather play for stats than on a winning team, so I dealt him.

QB - Hank Newman (level 17)

We had lost a DE that was backing up both DE spots, getting roughly 40 plays a game. A couple games he got more plays than one of our starters. To him, I think is was more the fact of having the title "starter" than anything else. He also never used his boosts. If he would have while he was here, that probably would have catapulted him into the starting line-up. But he chose to contact me out of the blue with no mention of anything and say "I took off my equipment, I'm not spending anymore skill points, I'm screwing with my game tactics, playing on relaxed and training on intense until you trade me". Took me by complete surprise because he never mentioned anything about anything. Just woke up on the wrong side of the bed one morning I guess.

DE - End Around (level 16)

One of our Guards expressed his displeasure being a backup 3 games ago. As a back-up, the amount of plays shown wasn't enough.
Go back 3 games:
Timmy Biggman - 46 plays
(back 4 games)
Timmy Biggman - 16 plays
(back 5 games)
Timmy Biggman - 41 plays
(back 6 games)
Timmy Biggman - 39 plays

So there's not much more I could do to give him any more time than that as a back-up. At least to my knowledge.

There were a couple others, but I think it was more of a misunderstanding on how experience is gained than anything. As far as I know, this is how they give out experience per plays played:

4 plays ~29% max experience
9-10 plays ~50% max experience
16 plays ~76% max experience
25 plays ~89% max experience
28-30 plays ~93% max experience
36-38 plays ~97% max experience
45+ Plays ~100% experience

The Vestibule Rickrollers draw all of their players from an outside community, so no one wants to be traded, everyone is content with their pay, and we all respect each other.

That's a huge advantage we have over most of you guys.

The Hustlers have Laseeno and I, and we founded the team. I got Koldfront to get on the game and he joined the team, but other than that we just were lucky enough to get a solid base of cool ass mofos that wanna win and understand what that takes.

They are apparently shopping to switch leagues as well, as one of my other teams has been talking to them about it.
