GAME OF THE WEEK
Da NOLA Brah!!! K&B Purples v Vice City Mambas
This is the GoTW because it is a real "pecking order" type game. While I suspect both teams will make the playoffs, we get to see what should be an even matchup with the penalty being Furious in the first round (early still I know). As usual Da NOLA is giving up a lot of VAs and they are facing some veteran game planners. Using common opponents as a metric, Da NOLA looked better against Buffalo and Atlanta, but not by so much that it makes deciding easy. I placed Da NOLA higher in the power poll based on results so far, but I think they will have some problems hanging with VC's passing game. Vice City 42, Da NOLA 38.
OTHER GAMES
Furious George v New Orleans Poison
I know they say never overlook an opponent, but go ahead and look to Montana, I think it's safe Furious. Furious George 255, New Orleans 0.
Montana Grizzlies v Detroit Outlaws
A tale of two teams, one is rolling in a sick manner and one is ready to roll out to the off-season golf courses. Montana 105, Detroit 7.
Atlanta Wolves v Manhattan Massacre
Atlanta really looked like the #2 team in the poll against VC last time out and now they face a similar-level team in Manhattan. If Manhattan has any chance to stay in the playoff race, they will need an upset or two along the way. It won't be here as Atlanta's o-line will impose their will all day. Atlanta 75, Manhattan 10.
Maine Hawks v Pittsburgh Powerhouse
A classic 4-5 game in what could end up being a playoff first round preview unless MV jumps up or some other scenario unfolds. Maine beat the team that just housed Pitt, but I think Montana is playing a much different game now tbh. I think where Maine has a very big advantage over Pitt is their defensive front 7. Maine 45, Pittsburgh 28.
Martha's Vineyard Ballbusters v Houghton Gremlins
MV is very quietly looking like an 11 win team and will probably overtake Pitt this week (at least temporarily). MV 200, Houghton 0.
Welsh Dragons v Buffalo Beasts
Bring out yer dead! We're not dead yet they say! Both teams are still technically quite alive, but both have several playoff teams left on the schedule, so not looking good. Buffalo 27, Welsh 24.
Detroit Diablos v Bowdoin Polar Bears
This could be a "relegation game". Bowdoin 24, Detroit 21.
