Back in action after the move.
GAME OF THE WEEK
Montana Grizzlies v Martha's Vineyard Ballbusters
Old school A versus new school A. Montana is just rolling along on the way with their inevitable clash with Furious. MV was shocked and awed by a surprising Pitt team last time out and need to recover. They are a better team than they showed there. I picked this as the GoTW because it is a matchup of two teams with very good records thus far. Both teams lost to Maine in close contests, Montana by less. I am thinking the middle of that Montana defense will be the big difference here as they will make a few more stops than MV's D. Montana 38, Martha's Vineyard 24.
OTHER GAMES
Furious George v Vice City Mambas
A week after Furious was held under 100 for the first time this season (while still winning in a route), they go ahead about put over 160 on next game. VC got one-pointed by Buffalo in a game it might regret at the end of the season if Manhattan or Buffalo manage to catch them. VC will watch FG's pretty returner in frustration. Furious 115, Vice City 10.
Atlanta Wolves v Detroit Diablos
The Wolves come off of an outstanding win, having pulled away from Maine in the 4th quarter. Detroit is still looking toward next season as their jumping off point. Atlanta 62, Detroit 14.
Maine Hawks v Da NOLA Brah!!! K&B Purples
This should be an interesting game. Maine is now on a two-gaming losing streak and needs a win badly. Da NOLA broke their own 3-game losing streak convincingly against Bowdoin. While Da NOLA is much improved, Maine should take this in just about every category. Maine 45, Da NOLA 21.
Pittsburgh Powerhouse v Bowdoin Polar Bears
Wow, where did this Pitt team come from? They quite frankly weren't very good last season but have really turned things around. To my surprise they slapped a hair lip on MV and I'm glad I didn't make picks last time out because I would have missed that one! Bowdoin has no quit in them but they are just over-matched here. Pittsburgh 55, Bowdoin 10.
Manhattan Massacre v Buffalo Beasts
I almost picked this one for the game of the week because the winner could very well get into the playoffs before it's all over. Will this slow start/strong finish theme become a yearly thing for Buffalo? Manhattan has now won 2 straight is only one game out of a playoff spot. Last season Buffalo took down Manhattan in a good game and I look for something similar here. Buffalo 24, Manhattan 17.
Detroit Outlaws v Welsh Dragons
Boy, the Dragons are just having a tough time and the Outlaws are doing about as expected as an under-leveled team. The Outlaws will once again give up levels, but they are playing better ball right now. Detroit 28, Welsh 27.
Houghton Gremlins v New Orleans Poison
Oh my, this game had to happen sometime. Houghton 3, New Orleans 2.
