ALPHA
It took me 8 weeks, but I finally managed to get the Warlocks on top where they belong.
I also managed to move Ares up a couple of spots, closer to where they belong.
If they want to move up any more they'll have to do it themselves.
They still have plenty of games on their schedule to make some noise.

ZETA
Based on the numbers, we now have a virtual tie for the #1 seed.
Grid Iron Valor edge out the AZ Knights by only 1 tenth of a point.
It looks like we're in for an epic battle when these two teams meet in week 10.

FINAL CHANGE
I made my final change to the formula this week as I implemented the "Big Win" factor in a similar way that I include the "Blowout Wins".
This didn't have a huge effect on overall rankings except for a few teams.
But what it also did was to make the numbers more accurate in separating the groups of teams on par with each other.
I'll be interested to see how these rankings work again next season when there are only a few games played. Numbers rankings will always even out over the course of a season, but it's nice to have them somewhat accurate while the season is in progress.

Should at least be ahead of the Black Feet as we did beat them & do have the same record. We also have a easier remaining 7 games left than them. Anyhow, thanks for getting our ranking a little more correct than it was.....LOL.

Ok, I'm not flaming here Loco but how do we have the number one spot. Beat a team by +255 and drop a spot in the rankings? Although the team we played was a pushover, GIV played a team of the same caliber. How does that work? Again, I am not complaining just curious. Thanks again for your work. They are very well put together!

I don't mind this being questioned.

As I do this, I keep questioning myself to try and improve it.

This was a tough one, but I figured out.....


The biggest difference is that AZ was already ranked #1 in offense/defense and by playing a gutted team, your score gets dropped while that specific ranking can't improve.

GIV, on the other hand, played a gutted team, but also managed to improve their offensive ranking by 4 places.

It was a small difference, but in the end GIV's offensive ranking improved enough to offset the negative effect applied by playing a gutted team.
This allowed them to gain about a point in their score.
AZ's ranking stayed the same since they were already #1, and their score dropped a few points because they played a gutted team.

That's the best explanation I can give you on that one.

My formula looks pretty crazy right now, but luckily I can still dissect it.
Maybe at the end of the season, I'll post it for LOL's.

The other reason is they get bonus points for being owned by a Coastie.

im just happy the allstars are hangin tough, although we almost certainly have some lop-sided losses coming up

GL Wed., clearly the game of the week and you guys have a great squad there. Hopefully we can keep it close, i just hope my GM's don't give PR duties the the punter again! heh
