Correct me if I'm wrong, but the conference champions are the ones who get promoted, who might not necessarily be the championship winner. The Cocks have zero chance of winning their conference, so we're pretty much stuck with them for one more season

Unfortunately, you are wrong. The playoffs decide the conference championship winners. Basically the last 2 standing for the league championship will move up. It could be both 8th seeded teams.

Yea but that was in an 8 game season. If we had played 8 more, the Cybernations would have been, at worst, a 2 seed.

Yeah, these rankings will all be terribly moot soon enough.
We're all winless after the next two games and the only thing this regular season does is determine your possible schedule, for anyone that makes the playoffs.

He's right on the opposite end though. My understanding is that, because there are no playoffs for the bottom of the bracket, the relegated teams will be determined on the basis of regular season record.
