GG guys, but next season we need to get this started earlier. With our playoff game 24 hors away, we had both our O and D AI turned off, and just ran with basic to not give our playoff opponent any more gamefilm.

Watch out, actually gameplanning like this and then using it as a reason you lost is considered an excuse around here.

No excuse. We lost, and deserved to lose.

The bigger reason for me posting was to bring out the obvious lack of concern about OPL reputation. Not participating in the SAPL/OPL challenge (which always had a ton of respect around GLB), having only 12 teams agree to play EEPL, and then having teams who agreed igrnore or reject challenge requests is not the sign of a solid league.

EEPL is down this year, and will probably be next year too with more teams going under. But the teams are ready to try and represent the league as best they can, and will group together to play anyone.

Obviously the same cannot be said of OPL.

And for the record. If Kingston gets knocked out of the playoffs tomorrow against Mata-Utu Voodoo, and wants to schedule another scrimage game with the Pest (and get our full effort this time), please send the request and we will honor it.

Stuff

OPL is quite the solid league.

Not having the time to set up this stuff due to real life commitments, or waning interest in GLB is not the sign of a league that is not solid. Coming here to taunt and hurl insults at the OPL teams because they chose to not accept a challenge is rather childish, too. Sometimes, people are busy, or sometimes people just don't feel like gameplanning for a ton of extra games. Especially in a season where GLB has lost interest to a lot of people and they're pushing through the season waiting for the next.

I mean, OPL and SAPL really helped to pioneer the idea of the interleague challenges that so many partake in today. Choosing not to run and organize something similar for a season isn't some black mark on the teams or anything like that.

So...yeah.

Putting the blame completely over on this side for the Magellan Cup is unrealistic. We have the cup. SA had all season to set up the matches (when I had a team here, I did a lot of the work, with James working on SA"s behalf). Sending ubass over here to do anything but something useful didn't get anything done, and SA holds just as much fault for that tourney not happening...maybe next year they'll try to take the cup, something they've never been able to win.

I can't speak for the EE/Oceania PRO matches, but tbh, interest by many is waning in this game...its hard enough to coordinate 16 games + playoffs + preseason testing, let alone scrims, challenges and tourneys. While I don't agree at all with teams backing out of accepting a challenge, the number of teams involved shouldn't be a big deal - those who want to participate can, and those who don't can concentrate on what matters to them.

No one in EEPL gameplanned either, since they were planning for the playoffs, but they still set the games up and played. OPL pride is at an all time low, and if it takes a little nudging to get it back, then I am willing to be the bad guy if that's what it takes. The Pests turned off our AI on both the O and D in our game, but we still played.

If teams said they would play, and then do not accept the scrims, then they need to be called on it. Sorry if it bothers you, but they need to either not agree to play, or accept and play.

The OPL/SAPL challenge is the high water mark of what league challenges should aim to be. I hope you guys can get it back next season.

Holy crap there are some sandy vag's in this thread. I don't see how much "pride" you can have in a game that has shitty code and sweeping changes from one extreme to the next every season. If you want to play and get a fake cup, you set it up.
