The next set of power rankings might be a little late like this one is because I'm in the midst of finals week. Nevertheless, nothing like a distraction like GLB to take me away from the dreary reality that is a week filled with exams.

1.) Sportsrant.com Stalkers
The Stalkers pulled away in the second half against a Night Marchers squad that is going through some difficult times currently. Behind Blanda, Amuru, and a run defense that completely shut down the O'ahu ground game, Sportsrant once again retains the top spot in the rankings. Next up for our top seed is a Cincy squad fighting tooth and nail every game for a playoff spot this season. Will they be looking ahead to MM?

2.) Minneapolis Masterminds
After dispatching the Rainmakers, MM finally faces the difficult part of their schedule with a showdown against St. Louis scheduled for Wednesday afternoon. The Sidewinders would love nothing more than to ruin the unblemished record of MM and solidify themselves as a top-tier season 9 USA#2 team. My game of the week for the upcoming sim.

3.)Motor City Madmen
The Madmen decided they weren't really a fan of this losing stuff and absolutely destroyed the Norris Ninjas. Almost everything worked on offense for MCM as they get a game off against the Sharks before a huge matchup against MM. You can bet the Madmen will be paying a lot of attention to how MM handles their first real test of the season.

4.)Rutgers Silent Willies
One cupcake down, two more to go as RSW cruises for another couple of sims. After a relatively difficult schedule to start things off, Rutgers will enjoy some much needed R&R as a number of the top teams around them square off against one another. I'm sure Thorpe will have his troops ready to go as they hit a difficult stretch of games after their current hiatus.

5.)Pensacola Dolphins
Pensacola pulled off a victory against a solid Krakens team that, in my estimation, was not as close as the final score indiciated. Tampa's offense was almost non-existant as the Dolphins defense put on quite an impressive performance. They now faceoff against a dangerous O'ahu team hungry for its first victory of the season. These guys have looked pretty good to start off season 9.

6.)St. Louis Sidewinders
The Sidewinders are done with their break against the Sharks and now look to take down MM. They didn't exactly ahve the easiest schedule to start off season nine, but unlike most teams who start off tough, their mid-season schedule offers little if any comfort. These guys barely have a chance to catch their breath until we get into the later part of the season. But will they need to?

7.)Tampa Bay Krakens
I'm not sure if Bones Brigade forgot to tell his passing game that this wasn't a scrimmage against USA BBB #4, or if they really were as terrible as the box score tells me, but 9 drops and 22 PDs just are not gonna get it done against anybody you face. The ground game might have been even worse. Now Tampa must regroup against an up-and coming Cougars team that nobody has been talking about. This game could have huge playoff seeding implication at regular-season's end.

8.)Corona Del Mar Cougars
Huge victory for Corona over the Rampage give them the precious head-to-head tiebreaker should playoff seeding come down to it at season's end. Now and equally important game against Tampa has the Cougars looking to build some early season momentum and attempt to solidfy themselves in solid playoff contention. They squeaked by Detriot despite being outgained by almost 100 yards on offense and putting the ball ont he turf three times. They won't be able to that on Wednesday and still be victorious.

9.)Detroit Rampage
Three consecutive losses against potential playoff teams has the Rampage reeling heading into a nice three game break against some of the non-playoff contenders. Their margin for error is now extremely tight as they have yet to face five of the top six teams in these rankings, and now are on the wrong side of tiebreakers with Tampa and Corona. They need this next week to figure things out and salvage their playoff hopes.

10.)Cincinnati Norris Ninjas
After getting demolished by MCM on Monday, the Norris Ninjas now draw the top seed in these rankings during an extremely unforgiving part of their schedule. Their following game is essentially a must-win situation for them (and probably O'ahu as well) if they hope to have any shot of competing in season 9's postseason. Ahh... I remember the days when vikingpower would talk so much shit to MM about how much of a "beast" of a GM he was.

11.)O'ahu Night Marchers
Tough way to start the season, O'ahu could REALLY use an upset against Pensacola to somehow try and right their ship. A loss on Wednesday makes their next two games basically must-wins to have any shot at getting into the postseason. I'm not gonna say that O'ahu is dead just yet, but something positive needs ot happen to this club before season nine ends for them WAY too early.

12.)Orange County Old Farmers
After getting thrashed by Rutgers, OCOF continues to face an extremely difficult stretch of games that might see them on a hefty losing streak before mid-season showdown against the Cowboys. Not much more to report on these guys.

13.)North Texas Cowboys
Coming off a win against San Antonio, North Texas finds itself in almost the exact same spot in the schedule as OCOF does. They also probably find themselves at 2-8 before their big game of the year against OCOF.

Rebuilding

14.)San Antonio

15.)Florida

16.)Seattle

There's a new curfew for Kraken players....no more clubbing the night before a big game! The Dolphin secondary definitely earned that win.

Thanks for doing this, as always!

ROFL....I actually forgot about that guy. We haven't heard a peep out of him in almost 2 seasons now.
