GAME OF THE WEEK
Da NOLA Brah!!! K&B Purples v Furious George
This may not end up being the closest game of the week but it is a contest of 2 of the 3 remaining undefeated teams. Da NOLA's master plan is finally paying off while Furious is just paying in a lot of beatings. Furious will have more VAs in the game and also a superior defensive front 7. Just too much level difference this time. Furious 45, Da NOLA 14.
OTHER GAMES
Main Hawks v Houghton Gremlins
Yup, Gremlins still a cpu team. Maine 255, Houghton 0.
Martha's Vineyard Ballbusters v Manhattan Massacre
It's the new guys versus the old school A team. On paper this looks fairly even but really MV has been playing much better ball. I think Manhattan will have a really difficult time stopping the MV aerial assault armada. Martha's Vineyard 42, Manhattan 21.
Atlanta Wolves v Pittsburgh Powerhouse
Ouchies to Atlanta who wore down later in the game to get buzzsawed by Furious. Pittsburgh is quietly 3-1 despite my predictions otherwise! The Wolves won against Pittsburgh 48-9 last season. Look for Atlanta to be on the other side of the wearing down coin this time around as Pittsburgh keeps it close early and fades late. Atlanta 35, Pittsburgh 17.
Montana Grizzlies v Vice City Mambas
This might be the most entertaining game of the week. Montana recovered from their loss to Maine nicely, while VC got Ballbusted in severe fashion. Last season Montana beat VC 49-17. I think it will be closer this time but Montana has too much depth for VC still. Montana 35, Vice City 21.
Bowdoin Polar Bears v Buffalo Beasts
Game between traditional A rivals. Buffalo rolled 66-17 in last season's matchup, but is of to a slow start again this time. Bowdoin is doing what they do, beating who they are supposed to beat. Buffalo still has a lot more talent, so look for them to break into the W column. Buffalo 27, Bowdoin 21.
Detroit Diablos v Detroit Outlaws
The intra-city matchup of badguy mascots has arrived. The Diablos have fared a little better in A so far but lost last season's contest 36-6 to the Outlaws. The Diablos look to have more talent this season but have been killed 2 weeks in a row. I think the Diablos defensive line gets them back over .500. Diablos 24, Outlaws 14.
Welsh Dragons v New Orleans Poison
The proud Dragons franchise got their first win in A over Manhattan last time out, while New Orleans is on the long slow road to rebuilding. Welsh 200, New Orleans 0.
