Ok so the new power rankings are finished. Below is the position, conference and rating you have gained to this point. Some of the astute observers might say, "Wait a second! We won this weeks game and yet our rating went down. How is that possible?" The answer that I had to artificially create strength of schedule values for the first 2 games (based on overall talent). However now that we've gotten a few games in, I've replaced all of those artificial values with the appropriately calculated value. I can assure you that only 2 teams actually INCREASED the value of the ratings this week. Teikoku and Springfield. Both of these teams have had big wins this week which caused that to happen. If you still have a problem then win some more games pansies!

Games of the Week

West
Big Whiskey Assassins vs. Big Money Dynasty

The battle of the BIGS: The rivalry is renewed that dates all the way back to season 2 in USA BBB#7!!! The "Bigs" have had some epic battles over time with Big Money dominating the first two games followed by Big Whiskey rattling off the next four. Unfortunately for the Dynasty, they haven't left the turf with a victory since way back in season 3 when the Assassins pulled a "Detriot" on the Da 7 and went 0-for-16. Both teams have grown and matured over the years, and while Big Whiskey has had the upper hand, this may be the first real chance in many seasons for the Dynasty to leave the field victorious. If they're going to do that however, they're going to need huge games out of their 3-headed monster. Black Domina, Speedy Dallas, and Blues man have taken USA A#4 by storm, and while Black Domina has had some fumbling problems in the first couple of games, it appears that he's righted the ship. These three have been nothing but spectacular. It will be crucial for the Dynasty running backs to hold on to the ball and keep up their average yards-per-rush.

Those RBs will also need to provide a safe outlet for QB Romo II because Big Whiskey have been able to put pressure on QBs this season. The bookend DEs of Sudden Death and Jimmy Conway have been nothing but headaches for OC's this season as they just don't stop until they meet at the QB. From what I've heard in the locker room, there's been a friendly wager between the two about which one will get more sacks this season. The Assassins should be brimming with confidence coming into this game. Their offense has been clicking, and their defense has been fairly stout. RB Jarlaxle the Mercenary is a Reggie Bush type that is just as scary catching it as he is running it, and TE Inspectah Deck will surely finish the season as one of the leading receivers amongst his position. Big Whiskey isn't afraid to throw it, and if the Dynasty can't get to QB Wu Tang Clan then they're going to struggle to keep up no matter how well they can run it.

In the end, I think the Dynasty keep Wu Tang and his compatriots off the field long enough to pull out a squeaker.

Dynasty 24, Assassins 23

Lincoln Freedom Warriors vs. Victoria Teabaggers

On paper this may not look like a game of the week because the Teabaggers have started the season 0-3. However, Victoria has talent, and they're desperate for a win if they want to land a playoff spot. Is this an elimination game for the Teabaggers?!? It would take an incredible run from them if they can't win a few of these games. What has hurt this team is the apparent lack of offense. QB Juan Elway is hovering around a 50% completion percentage and only 4.7 ypa while all three of their running backs average less than 4 yards per carry. Victoria needs to find its offense, and find it fast.

Lincoln, however appear to be in pretty good shape thus far, but they too could use to put some distance between the haves and have-nots. Look for Matt Webb and Nick Ford to try to exploit a leaky Victoria rush defense throughout the game. If they fall behind however, QB Chris Morrison will find one of his three favorite targets downfield to get the offense going. WRs C'ya Imascoring, Blitzkrieg Jones, and James Jett Jr are devilishly difficult to cover. You cannot stack the box against these guys because the passing attack will make you pay.

Although Victoria puts up a game effort and their offense improves, Lincoln will prove too much as the Teabaggers fade out of playoff contention.

Lincoln 42, Victoria 31

To give some credit where it's due, those first two wins of ours, the Assassins team was under different ownership. They were called the San Jose Aztecs back then. We (the Dynasty) have never beaten the current incarnation of the team now called the Assassins.

Sorry, but gotta be honest about it.

You still own two wins over the franchise. This is probably the most meaningful game you two have ever played against one another either way

We just added several new GMs overnight hoping that maybe this helps propel us up the rankings.

A win over INYA ONYA would be quite helpful, but the real test will be the upcoming games against Nic Cage and Springfield...

Lincoln continues to flex its muscle while the Dynasty go home still frustrated by the Assassins. Entertaining week with the most interesting score coming between the Cougars and Nic Cage. Did anyone expect the game to be this close?!?!? Since when do the cougars give up 56?

We dominated both of them this year, though I figured Nic Cage would be improved over last season. I've seen a couple of the players they've added. It should be a tough one and there's no guarantee we'll win, though I would say we're probably favored until they beat us.
