Warrior General Games

I know preseason games are not very meaningful but they are a good way to get a first look at how good the teams are and how the leagues stack up. I will be using my rankings and Angry Beavers rankings to decide if a game counts as a shocker.

Shockers-
Mongolian Horde defeats the Shanghai Knights 62-16
These were two borderline playoff teams and it should have been close either way.

Hong Kong Phooeys defeat the Kathmandu Mountaineers 84-19
I know the Phooeys are probably the best team but they were playing a predicted #2 seed who should have kept it within 21.

Davao City Pirates defeat the American Patriots 74-14
I think the Patriots were over ranked at #4 but they should have beat the Pirates if the conferences were even.

That is mostly it. The Phnom Penh Kung Fu Panda also had a big week but they are going to be very good. I don't know if we can win in our week one matchup with them. Garuda clearly had the better week butIf the Panda's win it all then Naga will have the edge.

The question with preseason is did everyone take it seriously? My team threw 80% of the time to look at the sim (though we still wound up winning), we are in evaluation mode the first 2 games, the last 2 we'll play to win. Can't judge much out of the preseason.

hah very true. I didnt even know we had played and we had some depth chart issues. That's not to say that they wouldn't have beat us anyhow, but we certainly would have made a game out of it. Hopefully we'll be ready to go in 6 days or so.

Meh I think ranking for pre-season stuff is a little much. I know that were running individual AIs per quarter to test as many possible plays and schemes as we can.

Hence why weve had plays with the FS in coverage and everyone else blitzing....

meh its just preseason. take it with a grain of salt like the NFL. we were testing random defensive and offensive plays. as everyone else probably is. you cant get a feel for what a team is like until week 5 orr so of the regular season.

Preseason means absolutely nothing. Most people are trying out crazy defensive plays they made with the play creator. Others arent even using their AI because they dont want to tip their hands to their first real opponent.

I know it doesn't mean much but I was pretty bored.
