Bort advertised before he did this last shuffle that he was going to take a small number of players on the team and ignore up to that many players over the STARTING HARD CAP for the league. As far as I know, Bort never told anybody how many players he was going to ignore per team.

We had almost nobody over Level 28 at shuffle time, and something like 8 or 9 over Level 24.

As I said previously (here or elsewhere), I ASKED for a Level 24 capped league. I didn't want to have to face teams of people who specifically built to push up against the level 28 cap.

As it turns out, there really aren't any of those teams in this conference.

With VERY few exceptions, the players on the Sidhe today started on the Sidhe at Level 1 two seasons ago.

The Sidhe were NOT built or designed to push the level cap. Once I knew where we landed, my recruiting efforts to fill the few holes we had were focused on pulling in players to help cover the capability gap caused by us being a far more Level 24 cap team than 28.

Looks like I got lucky on how that worked out.

I don't want you guys to think I was crying foul. I'm fine with it. I was just asking the question out loud that just about everyone in this conference was probably thinking or discussing amongst themselves. Either way, promotion should handle any level discrepancies. Honestly, you really don't outlevel the other teams by much at all.

We ended up in the same situation with Dunkirk. We weren't really planning on trying to be competitive in the league we were in for another season, and had basically assembled the team out of spare parts and FAs that we had lying around. But the the big reshuffle came and we were put in a 28 cap, so we decided to try and make a go of things. It's been difficult because our back-ups are so much behind the 28 cap, and our starters are so far above.

Recruiting has helped that, but there's some very well built teams in this conference. Many of you have a real good grasp on what you're doing. Outside of deciding to play the villains to fire the forums up, it's been fun, so far. Very fun dotball to watch.

The back-ups are, for the most part. That was part of the issue. We had a mixed squad, it was sort of our "Island of Misfit Toys" team until the reshuffle. Now, we're half-in and half-out and trying to make a run at it. If we don't succeed this season, so be it. We really weren't very ready for this season as it stands.

That's the way to do it though for longevity's sake. I'll probably make the next generation of Anaesthesiologists next season.

So, you guys have got me curious, and I looked at WEA4.

Our best teams are a full step behind the worst of those who will remain in that league. We're three steps behind the leaders in that league.

NOT gonna be friendly to get promoted, regardless of which of us goes.

Great minds... I did the same thing earlier today. The best in this league won't be competitive up there. I still haven't boosted this season but that wouldn't make up the difference or even come close. I think, even with a late boost, I'll be lucky to get by the Express or the Sidhe in the playoffs. You guys boosted yet?

I think promotions and shuffles will be commonplace from here on out

Well, I haven't ASKED anyone to boost, yet, but we're a pretty experienced crew, and once the player reaches level 28, there's no benefit to waiting any longer, so . . ..
