Here we are gents, the end of season 8. After another week off, I am ready to do my final regular season predictions. This is do or die week for a lot of teams, so lets get to the action.

LION

Carthaginian War Elephants vs. K.C. PLAYMAKERS
On paper this looks like an easy game to call, but games aren't played on paper. They're played on little pixels on my computer screen. Carthaginian is riding the longest winning streak in Lion, and look to cruise into the first round of the playoffs in the top spot. The Playmakers are locked into the 7th seed, and if they beat the Elephants, and PTT beats the Mambas, this game would be replayed in the first round of the playoffs. The bottom line is K.C. is a good team, and if CWE takes them lightly, they could lose this game. That being said, I think CWE wins this one 34-24

PTT Rebels vs. Madagascar Black Mambas
PTT still has to be upset about those back to back fumbles in the Voodoo game. Those fumbles in all likely hood cost them the #1 seed, and home field through out Lion. All they can do now, is try to beat the Mambas, and root like crazy for the Playmakers. The Mambas are currently the 6th seed, and are likely going to remain there, as they are two games ahead of the Playmakers, and the Jackals are playing Tijuana, and will likely win. PTT has more to play for in this game, and thus they will win it......31-27

Zulu Death Warriors vs. Ouagadougou Voodoo
The Lion game of the week sees the current #3 and #4 seed pounding it out. It's real simple folks. The winner gets the 3rd seed, the loser gets the 5th and no home playoff game. You can be sure that the Jackals will be watching this one pretty closely. This game is extremely tough to call. Going by our game with each team, I have to take the Warriors in this match up. Lets say 35-31.

Johannesburg Jackals vs. Tijuana Thundercats
The Jackals look destined for the #4 seed, and the Thundercats are destined for the A league. This one gets ugly, 255-0.

Morocco Loco Siroccos vs. Burundi Hutu
Morocco needs a win this week, to guarantee a playoff appearance. The Stink Apes are hot on their heels one game back, and hold the tie breaker. Luckily they play the Hutu this week, so they should be able to get the win they need. Loco wins, 48-24

Congo Lions vs. South African Bulls
The Lions have had a great season, but it just wasn't quite enough to make the playoffs. No doubt they will want to end the season on a high note, with a win over the Bulls. Lions win 80-20

Uganda Stink Apes vs. Mikumi Black Bears
The Apes had such an up and down season, I'm sure there is more then one game they wish they could get a do over on. Unfortunately, there are no mulligans in football. Although they likely have missed the playoffs this season, I expect the Apes to come back as strong as ever next season. 65-7 Apes

Dakar Demons vs. CPU Atlantic Blue Jays
Dakar look to have the beginnings of a strong team, and I expect them to be a playoff contender next season. They beat the CPU here...210-0

ELEPHANT

Kickin Djibouti vs. Mozambique Thundercats
In the Elephant game of the week (and possibly the game of the year) Kickin plays host to the Thundercats. This should be a barn burner. The winner of this game gets the #1 seed. End of story. If this game was played in week #1, I would say that Kickin wins handily. But Mozambique has had a season to get tactics together, and get their chemistry up. Is it enough to beat the mighty Djibouti though? Also, will each team give it their best shot, knowing that there is a good shot they meet in the conference championship. I have to pick one, so let me take Djibouti to win 37-33.

Swaziland Semnikati vs. Maasai Death Tribe
Swaziland has got to be disappointed with their last 4 weeks. With loses to Kickin and the T-Cats, they have dropped out of contention for the top spot. People say you learn more from a loss then a win, and if that's the case, Swaziland could be poised for an upset or two in the playoffs. They beat the Death Tribe here, a TON to zero.

Mogadishu Outlaws vs. Giza Gremlins
The Outlaws look locked into the #4 seed. The home playoff game will be nice, but is there trouble in the Outlaw camp? I read in the forums that they are looking for an OC. This may or may not be big deal, but I can't imagine changing OC's right before the playoffs is easy. At any rate, I wish them luck in finding some help. They need no help this week however as they beat the Gremlins 150-0.

Mamelodi Night Runners vs. Senegal Slayers
MNR have probably been going over Outlaw game film for the last couple of days. They are on a collision course with the Outlaws for round 1 of the playoffs. MNR gets to get their backups plenty of playing time this week, and the beat up the Slayers. 255-0

Tanzanian Thunderhawks vs. Asmara Freedom Fighters
The T-Hawks are locked into the playoffs, but their seed is not locked up yet. They RUF is one game back, and hold the tie breaker. That means that the T-Hawks need to win this game to ensure they don't play Kickin or the T-Cats in the first round. AFF is out of the playoff picture, but are still a tough team to play. I expect big things from them next season. Tough one to call, but I'll take AFF in an upset 28-24.

Revolutionary United Front vs. Toledo Hitmen
First of all, its nice to have Maxx up and back at em. I hope you are doing well. The RUF have an easy win this week, and are probably becoming AFF fans as I type this. They would love to get out of the 7th spot, and not have to worry about one of the big dogs until later in the playoffs. RUF wins 255-0

Rhodesia Ratels vs. Shinra Soldiers
The Ratels are clinging to the last playoff spot by the skin of their teeth. They are currently in a 3 way tie with Coalville, and the AFF, and are in by tie breaker. Honestly, they deserve to be. They are a very good team, that had a tough time early in the season. they have looked better in the 2nd half of the season, before losing 2 of their last 3 games. In the end, they win this game, and the 8th seed, with a 75-7 win over the Soldiers.

Coalville Colliers vs. Congo Kongs
The Kongs have had a pretty down season, and I hope they come back to their former glory next season. Coalville has had an impressive season, but I think the playoffs are just out of their reach this season. They do beat the Kongs here though, 27-14.

Good luck to everyone this week!

Thanks for the predictions and write ups always look forward to them, but after seeing how you beat Zulu I am very surprised they didn't say anything about it.

Great write up.. Just missed the playoff this season. I can't complain we did better than last year. Next up recruiting.. God, How I hate recruiting.

Best of luck to everyone who made it to the playoffs.

Rhodesia can only get in with a Coalville loss OR AFF win. Either one gives us the 8th seed.

I think Coalville will beat Congo very handily, and I'd have to give the edge to TT over AFF as well. tbh, I don't think either game will be very close, but I've been wrong before. (Once or twice, or so I'm told, but I think they're wrong or lying)

This will be the first, only and last time one of my team's miss the playoffs, if we do. (Georgetown+Rhodesia.. I don't count the other "jobs")

Rhodesia also makes it in if there's a three-way (Rhodesia, Coalville & AFF all win, or Rhodesia, Coalville & AFF all lose).

Edit: Never mind -- that's exactly what you said, kinda.

I would be very surprised (and very pleased) if we could hold the score as close as the prediction, but I honestly don't see it happening.

True, but I couldn't very well pick someone else for the 8th spot, after I just picked AFF to win in an up set.

Jackals are in a nice position - unless of course Zulu & Voodoo tie!

Good write up. I hope you are right! Not about us, but the Thunderhawks. I love seeing them lose. Go AFF!
