12 teams voted this week!!
Here we are 12 weeks into the season and a lot has happened this year. Several new teams have taken big steps forward to take control of both divisions, old stalwarts lost early and fell back to the pack, huge rivalries have been made and old ones renewed. A lot of things have happened this year and season 8 has turned out to be one of the most exciting in APL history. After all of that....look where we are now.
The more things change, the more they stay the same after all.
12 weeks into the season and 12 people voting, and we end up with a tie for 1st place between the two teams we all know best. LOL and TLGoT. And we're not done...oh no not by a longshot...these two teams face off against each other in 3 games. Does it get any better than this?
After spending the majority of the season on the back burner, The Legos have blasted their way into the spotlight with style once again. Just when everyone was about to accept The Stallions as APL's new top dog, LOL said not so fast, and defeated SLS 56 - 23. This has thrown the battle for Elephant's top spot into chaos. Four teams now can potentially lay claim to that title...LOL, TLGoT, SLS, and DD. The thing is, we won't know who the winner is until all the games are played. You can't write this script any better.
In Elephant's "Game of the Week", The Stallions try to rebound from that loss against the #10 UN Peacekeepers.
In Lion, The Rhinos have made a huge powerplay of their own. They also were content to lay in the shadows off of everyone's radar until they were ready. They decided they were ready. They have run off a phenomenal streak of wins against Lion's elite teams, defeating them all one by one. Unlike Elephant, the Lion conference is not up for debate. The Rhinos are unquestionably the team to beat and everyone else is playing for 2nd place. Windhoek does have two difficult games in a row to get through before they can lay claim on the regular season title. Today they face The Bulls, and the following week they face The Dream. They win those two and they have home field advantage throughout the playoffs
In Lion's "Game of the Week", The Cape Verde Kings meet their old rivals The Angola Dream. Both teams need this win badly if they want to keep up with The Rhinos, and the loser of this game is in great danger of losing a home field game in the playoffs.
Glad to see the nice turnout after 4 off weeks I'll keep writing them as long as you keep voting. Good luck everyone.
